FET attended TAICS forum to share Internet of vehicles 5G prospective application

        The "2020 TAICS Forum" was held on July 30 to discuss the standardization and application of 5G and Internet of vehicles with telecom, chip and information and communication equipment manufacturers.         FET exhibited the "intelligent traffic management" at the ""2020 TAICS Forum " through AI image recognition technology, it can detect illegal lane change, illegal temporary parking and other situations, reduce the incidence of accidents, and even identify stolen vehicle license plates, so as to improve the overall urban safety.

        

        Another application demonstrated by FET was "smart parking", which can help drivers to quickly find parking spaces, so as to alleviate traffic congestion and reduce idle air pollution. Tens of thousands of "geomagnetic detectors" have been set up in Taiwan. People can check through the Line official account "Parking GO", with more than 79000 members and more than 3 million times of inquiry, it has been the largest roadside parking instant information service system in Taiwan.

        

        In 2018, FET established Taiwan's first Internet of vehicles team "5G vanguard", making layout of the Internet of vehicles industrial ecological chain, actively joining hands with strategic partners to promote cross industry and cross domain cooperation, which have yielded fruitful results. In addition to traffic management, parking, the 5G self-driving bus, jointly developed by FET and Intelligent Transportation Society of Taiwan, has been put into operation at the end of May at the late night in Xinyi Road, Taipei city.
