FET called on 100 employees to clean the beach and guard the ocean

        FET held a beach cleaning activity on October 25. A total of 110 employees and their family members went to Shijiao beach in Wanli District with the most direct action to care about the ocean. A total of 379kg of marine garbage was cleared on the day.

        FET has been working hard for environmental sustainability for a long time, focusing on greenhouse gas emissions, energy management and participation in social environmental protection activities. FET said that in response to the goal of "reducing marine debris" by the United Nations sustainable development, beach cleaning activities are held every year. Although beach cleaning can only remove the beach garbage on that day, the most important thing is to hope that through the beach cleaning, volunteers can understand the problems of marine environment in the process, plant the seeds of marine protection on employees, and call on staff to create a better environment for the earth.

        FET has cooperated with The Society of Wilderness in beach cleaning. In addition to continuously combining the investigation methods of ICC International beach cleaning operation, the species composition of marine debris is recorded and the data are summarized and reported. Being different from previous years, this year, volunteers were invited to record the data of marine risk factors, and establish a beach safety rating list for all beaches in Taiwan, so as to reduce the risk of people's injury on the beach, and hope to arouse the attention of people on the safety of the beach and provide more people who like to be close to the sea for reference.
