        In recent years, the problem of fewer children in Taiwan has become increasingly serious. For this reason, the government has actively promoted the policy of "raising children together from 0 to 6 years old". Since August 1, Liduo will be released again, including the monthly increase of NTD1500 in child care allowance, the monthly increase of NTD1500 in child care allowance, and the monthly reduction of NTD500 in the upper limit of school payment (also known as kindergarten subsidy), hoping to improve childbearing willingness.

        1、 How are the subsidies different?

        The average person often cannot distinguish between child care allowance, child care allowance and upper limit of school payment (also known as kindergarten allowance). In fact, the difference is mainly based on the way of infant care, and the three can only choose one to receive.

        1. Child care allowance (applicable to children under 5 years old)

        The subsidy object of childcare allowance is babysitter/self care infant, or parents who do not accept public or quasi public childcare services or have not signed a private childcare center, and the comprehensive income tax rate of both parents is less than 20%. NTD5000 per month for the first child, NTD6000 per month for the second child and NTD7000 per month for the third and above.

        If children in their families use public private childcare centers, such as public childcare homes, quasi public childcare centers and quasi public nannies, they can apply for childcare subsidies or kindergarten subsidies depending on their age.

        2. Child care subsidy (applicable to infants under 3 years old)

        ● Public childcare homes or public private childcare centers: NTD5500 per month for the first child, NTD6500 per month for the second, and NTD7500 per month for the third and above.

        ● Quasi public nurseries and nurseries: NTD8500 for the first child, NTD9500 for the second and NTD10500 for the third and above.

        3. Kindergarten subsidy (applicable to children aged 2 to 6)

        ● Public kindergartens: NTD1000 will be paid for the first child every month, and tuition will be exempted for the second child.

        ● Non profit kindergartens: NTD2000 for the first child, NTD1000 for the second child and tuition free for the third child.

        ● Quasi public kindergartens: NTD3000 for the first child, NTD2000 for the second child and NTD1000 for the third child.

        2、 How to apply for various subsidies?

        1. Child care allowance

        ● Those who have received child care allowance before August 2022: direct connection, parents do not need to apply, and they will be transferred to parents' accounts the next month after verification.

        ● Those who do not receive child care allowance before August 2022: parents can apply online, or they can apply by "mailing" or "sending in person" to the township or urban office where the children are registered. Application forms, identification documents of the children and their parents or guardians, photocopies of financial institutions' accounts, and notice of comprehensive income tax approval (if not, they are exempted) must be prepared.

        After submitting the application, you can use the website of "Online Application for Childcare Allowance and School Subsidy of Ministry of Education" https://e-service.k12ea.gov.tw/ , enter the child's ID card number, birth date and applicant's ID card number, and query the application progress.

        2. Child care subsidy

        The sending unit shall assist in applying for subsidies.

        3. Kindergarten subsidy

        The fee will be reduced or exempted upon enrollment. For children from low/middle income families, it will be "free". Parents do not need to apply separately.
