PFEM OPEN BADMINTON TOURNAMENT 2015

PFEM Open Badminton Tournament 2015 was kicked off in November and lasted until December with its calibre matches played at SL Badminton Court Saleng. The tournament was the first badminton game organized since 1996.  The tournament was divided into two main categories, Men’s Doubles & Women’s Doubles category and Grand Champions category which gathered not only Senai participants but also participants from IHB-SA (1 team), IHB-KK (1 team) and IHB-KU (1 team). A total of 16 teams competed in Men’s Doubles category and 4 teams in the Women’s Doubles category.

On 1st December, long awaited Men’s Doubles final match between CY Lew & MH Wong versus Zarul Hisham & Mohd Hafis was held. Both teams were equally shine throughout the match and played extremely well. However, Zarul Hisham & Mohd Hafis dominated the game, taking full control of rally and drawing the rivals into their own rhythm. They won the match with straight set, 21-9, 21-17.  On the other match, Tan Lee Wah & Wong Meow Ling excelled in Women’s Doubles category as they won in the final match against Lai Jee Cheng & Lai Siew Ching also with straight set, 21-10, 21-16.

As the men’s doubles final match ended, the Grand Champions category finally began to find the real winner of the tournament. Again, endless effort from Zarul Hisham & Mohd Hafis was paid off as they were crowned as the best of the best in the Grand Champions category. They expertly hit IHB-SA team, Hamizin & Mohd Amar with straight set, 21-16, 21-18.

The best things about this tournament are the high discipline and high sportsmanship values showed by all the participants and also the great supports from PFEM staffs that came to join and witness the stupendous tournament. PFEM really appreciate all the tremendous amount of efforts from all including the management, the organizer, participants and all PFEM staffs in order to make this event a success. Hopefully we can produce and organize more great events like this. Congratulation to all the winners!
