Yilan travel notes

        Speaking of Yilan, what impressed everyone the most was the variety of themed farms. In particular, in recent years, Yilan farms have added capybaras, which are not found in other counties and cities, and set off another wave of tourism boom.

        The purpose of this trip was to meet Capybara, who was highly recommended by the travel program, so I chose to go to the "Xinhualu fun" farm near the homestay. Although the hinterland of the farm is not large, it raises more than 10 kinds of animals. In addition to the common rabbits, guinea pigs, parrots, sheep, sika deer, and grass mud horses, there are also marsh kangaroos, llamas, meerkats and capybaras. Tickets can be exchanged for a cup of carrot feed and a piece of grass, allowing visitors to feed animals at close range. Among them, the llama and alpaca love carrots very much, and they often run after the carrots in the hands of tourists. In order to avoid being frightened, I had to hide the carrots in my pockets. Interestingly, when my daughter was feeding the swamp kangaroo, it took the carrot directly with her hand and ate it, which is quite cute. In addition, we also found the popular capybara to feed and take pictures, and also visited Meihua Lake and Sanqing Palace.

        Meihua Lake is surrounded by mountains and seas, with good ecological protection. It is a beautiful fairyland on earth. There are flocks of mandarin ducks and waterbirds on the lake. Tourists can take a yacht tour of the lake, or rent a bicycle to go around the lake. If you are not in a hurry, you can also take a leisurely rest on the wooden plank road, feed the koi in the water, and enjoy the quiet afternoon time.

        Seeing that it would take some time for the homestay to open Check in, we went to the Fenshuiyan Scenic Area of Annongxi, Sanxing Township, to admire the pink flood-flooding bridge, the Tanxin Flower Pavilion and the Shuangqi Pavilion. A wing-shaped installation was erected at the entrance of Shuangqi Pavilion, as if opening its wings to welcome the arrival of tourists. On the same day, I met a colorful golden rooster on the green plank road in the heart of the lake. I was super lucky.

        Every farm has plans for DIY crafts and free welcome activities, and the Shangri-La farm where I stayed this time was no exception. It is located in Dongshan Township, Yilan, 250 meters above sea level. In the verdant green of the mountains, there are little red roof tiles reflected in it, and it really feels like a little red in the green bushes. In the carp pond, you can watch the fish rush for food, and there are vigorous meerkats in the hall. In the evening, activities such as rubbing glutinous rice balls, putting sky lanterns, playing tops, and puppet performances are launched, and there are free late-night snacks - glutinous rice balls, scallion pancakes, noodle soup, etc. It is a good place for parents and children to travel together.

        Early the next morning, we visited the sightseeing farm that came with the homestay. Although there were more than ten kinds of fruits planted in it, they had already been lit and only empty branches were left, which was a little disappointing. However, there are still small animals such as musk pigs, chickens, ducks, and geese in the park, as well as equipment such as swings, mountain training grounds and wooden suspension bridges. We walked over the mottled and widely spaced circular drum-shaped wooden suspension bridge. Although my husband was walking as fast as he could, I was already struggling and was afraid of falling under the bridge. Fortunately, there is a protective net underneath, otherwise I would have to retreat. At the end of the farm is a bell and drum tower, and even the drum sticks were interrupted, which shows that the farm has a very long history. Of course, we can't beat it a few times, as if we were a battle-hardened drummer. On the way back, I took a group photo with the farm at the commanding heights, and the whole farm looked like a paradise.

        After leaving the farm, go to the last itinerary of this tour - Tiansong Pisentie Cultural and Creative Park. The steam train at Tiansongpi Station was the main road in the 19th century from Yilan Luodong Bamboo Forest Station to Taipingshan Forest Farm, transporting timber and passengers. Although it has been suspended now, due to the nostalgic wind in recent years, the Yilan County Government renovated it in 1990 and injected a literary and youthful color into it. It has become a popular shooting spot for many idol dramas, movies and MVs. Pi Station has become one of the tourist hotspots in Sanxing Township.

        At noon, I dine at Tianshoupi Cafe, which is known as the most beautiful restaurant in Samsung, and it really deserves it. The meal is presented in the form of a set menu. The appetizer is a chocolate croissant, as well as seafood soup, main course Tomahawk pork chops, drinks, and the limited dessert of the day, cinnamon rolls, which are quite delicious and relatively affordable. If you spend NTD200 or more in the cafes, kiln roast houses, Samsung Memorial Hall, etc. in the park, you can also get a train ticket, enjoy the fun of visiting the park, and draw a complete end to our trip to Yilan.
