Far Eastern Construction 40 -- Building a Sustainable Living Network

 In 1982, in view of the rapid expansion of the Group's business and the increasing number of internal expansion projects, it was urgent to establish a construction business to carry out a more detailed division of labor for related projects. Along the way, Far Eastern General Construction Inc., in addition to undertaking projects such as construction of factory buildings, school buildings, and collective housing in the group, actively expanded to the outside world in 1990 under the promotion of policies such as the six-year plan of CSCEC and the regulations on industrial upgrading, and created a diversified construction business landscape.
New construction method and new technology to construct comfortable housing and commercial office
Over the past 40 years, Far Eastern General Construction Inc. has become a good builder in the eyes of the public. In terms of collective housing, whether "Far Eastern Construction New Station" or "Far Eastern Construction California", they are all well-known hot selling construction projects in Banqiao District, New Taipei City. In the near future, the "Forest of Far Eastern Construction" project, which is located in Zone B, Special Second Zone, Taipei Communication Park, will be launched. Not only responsible for the residential construction projects within the group, but also for the construction of Far Eastern Construction, which also contracted the construction projects of the C2 commercial office building in Nangang and the international hotel of Taifei Company. In the construction planning stage, BIM system was introduced, relevant information was integrated, and shared and transferred during the project design, construction and maintenance, so as to improve work efficiency, save costs and shorten the construction period. As a result, the C2 commercial office building project of Taifei South Port won the "Golden Safety Award for Excellent Engineering -- Civil Engineering Group -- Engineering Masterpiece" award from the Ministry of Labor in 2021.
 Contracting public works to accelerate local development
Far Eastern General Construction Inc.'s professional engineering technology and advanced construction capability have improved the quality of people's housing and become the reassuring guarantee for many large-scale public projects. The Yanshui River Bridge, which connects No. 8 National Road and the main roads in the urban area in Tainan, is the first public project of Far Eastern Construction to expand its territory. In terms of track construction, Far Eastern General Construction Inc. has contracted a number of projects including the Taipei MRT, Kaohsiung MRT, Taichung City MRT and railway station, among which, the CF660B section of the Taipei MRT ring line includes three elevated stations, tracks between stations and tail rails, with a total length of about 3.13km. Far Eastern Construction especially introduced the concept of engineering life cycle quality and green building techniques in the station design, modularized the structure and decoration system, and adopted an open platform with local air conditioning and natural ventilation to give consideration to the transparent lighting and sunshade and shelter from rain, so as to achieve the purpose of energy saving and low energy consumption. It was awarded the "Public Engineering Excellence Award - Civil Engineering Class I", the highest honor of public engineering by the Taipei Municipal Government. As for the CCL731 bid of Taichung City Station of the Department of Transport Railway Bureau, it is a highly difficult project. It is necessary to build an open curved roof truss structure with a height of 27 meters to connect the front and rear stations. Fortunately, Far Eastern Construction has fulfilled the expectations of all. It not only won the "First Prize of Taiwan Architecture Award" in 2020, but also won the "Golden Road Award - Outstanding Engineering" award for two consecutive years.
In terms of road engineering, Far Eastern General Construction Inc. has also made outstanding achievements. Fengshi Interchange Road Project (Bid C711) of No. 4 National Road has just been completed, and Tanzi Interchange Road Project (Bid C714) will also be completed and opened to traffic at the end of this year. It is worth mentioning that the above projects are large in scale, with many projects and high construction difficulties. Far Eastern Construction uses innovative construction methods in combination with BIM technology, and some sections adopt special bridge construction methods. For the two bridges crossing the dry creek, field casting cantilever construction methods and field casting construction methods are used respectively. In order to alleviate traffic congestion, "temporary roads", "temporary ramp steel temporary bridges" and other alternative facilities comparable to the level of permanent provincial roads are set up during construction, In addition, in line with the terrain and traffic demand, we implemented traffic maintenance measures such as half construction of structures, closed hoisting construction of roads at night, lane area allocation and adjustment, and solved the construction difficulties and complexity one by one. Therefore, "Fengshi Interchange Road Project (Bid C711)" won the "Golden Safety Award for Excellent Projects - Public Works Group - Engineering Works" in 2021.
 Practice carbon reduction strategy and build a beautiful home
Net zero carbon emission has become the most important environmental protection issue today. Although the construction industry is not a high carbon emission industry, the engineering materials, construction equipment and construction methods used in the traditional construction process all include high carbon emission products. In order to reduce carbon emissions, Far Eastern General Construction Inc. uses green materials and selects corresponding construction methods to take account of project quality progress and environmental protection.
