Far Eastern Memorial Hospital signs heart failure care certification program with American Heart Association

        On May 19th, Far Eastern Memorial Hospital, represented by Dr. Chiu and Dean Kuanming, signed a memorandum of cooperation with the American Heart Association (AHA) on the "International Heart Failure Hospital Certification Program", becoming the first medical institution in Asia to be invited to participate in this program. This not only marks an important milestone for Taiwan's medical industry to go global, but also demonstrates Far Eastern Memorial Hospital's outstanding achievements in heart failure care over the years, leading Asia towards a new era of higher quality heart failure care.

        The American Heart Association (AHA) has extended the International Heart Failure Hospital Accreditation Program to Asia for the first time, aiming to improve the quality of care for heart failure patients through standardized processes and data-driven indicators. This project only invites institutions with outstanding clinical performance and regional influence. Far Eastern Memorial Hospital's ability to become the first partner is not only an international honor, but also demonstrates its leading strength and deep reputation in the field of cardiovascular care. The AHA representative pointed out that Far Eastern Memorial Hospital has shown outstanding performance in patient data tracking, cross disciplinary team integration, and clinical process optimization, demonstrating its high potential to become a hub for heart failure care in the Asian region. They look forward to working together to promote the alignment of Asian healthcare with global standards.

        Ten years of sharpening a sword, creating a patient-centered integrated care system

        Since its establishment as a heart failure center in 2015, Far Eastern Memorial Hospital has always adhered to the concept of "patient-centered" and established a cross disciplinary integrated care system. From post discharge follow-up, health education, medication management, to multi specialty joint clinics, we aim to comprehensively improve the quality of life and long-term care effectiveness of heart failure patients. In 2018, it became the first medical institution in Taiwan to receive the "Heart Failure Care Quality Certification" from the Medical Council, solidifying its leading position.

        Starting from 2023, Far Eastern Memorial Hospital will further participate in the "HF A.S.I.A" quality improvement program promoted by AHA, and will receive recognition from the GWTG-HF Bronze Award upon its first participation. In 2024, it will be promoted to the Silver Award, demonstrating its determination and achievements in continuous improvement.
