Far EasTone Telecommunication has won the CDP "Supply Negotiation Joint Evaluation Grade A" for five consecutive years

        The global authoritative carbon disclosure organization CDP has released the results of the 2024 Supplier Engagement Assessment (SEA). Far EasTone Telecommunications stood out from over 20000 companies worldwide and was awarded the highest honor, the "Leadership A-level" rating, ranking among the top 6% of global companies. It is also the only telecommunications operator in Taiwan to receive A-level recognition for five consecutive years, demonstrating outstanding achievements and international influence in sustainable supply chain management.

        Chee Ching President stated that this year is the second hottest month on record in May, with temperatures exceeding 40 degrees Celsius in Spain and France in June. The economic losses and social damage caused by climate change are becoming increasingly severe, and energy conservation, carbon reduction, and moving towards net zero emissions are the major responsibilities of enterprises. While a single enterprise can go fast, gathering everyone's strength can go further.         To enhance the resilience and sustainable competitiveness of the supply chain, Far EasTone Telecommunication has introduced the "Supplier ESG Sustainable Risk Assessment" mechanism to assist suppliers in conducting sustainable resilience analysis and arranging on-site visits as a basis for procurement strategy and vendor capability improvement. For suppliers who do not meet the standards, Far EasTone Telecommunication also provides guidance and improvement suggestions, including organizing a "Sustainable Governance Workshop" to provide systematic guidance and assist in formulating sustainable governance policies and action plans based on the supplier's development stage. Far EasTone Telecommunication also holds an annual "Supplier Conference", inviting the top 500 partners in terms of procurement amount to participate, sharing the latest sustainable trends, and commending manufacturers with excellent ESG performance, actively promoting the green and low-carbon transformation of the supply chain.

        In addition, Far EasTone Telecommunication has set specific sustainability goals with its suppliers, expecting to reduce its own and supply chain carbon emissions by over 42% by 2030 compared to 2021; Additionally, key suppliers are required to sign a 'Biodiversity Commitment Letter', incorporating environmental protection into operational management and creating a green value chain that is eco-friendly. Starting from 2024, Far EasTone Telecommunications will lead the industry by launching the first third-party verified "Supply Chain Sustainability Report" in Taiwan, demonstrating its efforts and commitment to building a sustainable supply chain.
