 Far Eastern New Century Corporation under FENC ® TOPGREEN ® RTPEE technology converts waste polyester fabrics into soft and high-performance polyester elastic materials, and collaborates with the Textile Industry R&D Center, Assembly Industry, and Guangwei International to integrate the "One Step Separation and Decolorization" process and "Single Polyester Material" shoe design, providing a commercially viable solution to the composite material recycling problem faced by the global footwear industry. It has been recognized by the R&D 100 Awards this year.FENC ® TOPGREEN ® RTPEE technology uses recycled polyester fabrics as raw materials to convert them into high-performance polyester elastic materials, which can be applied in various fields such as shoe midsoles, shoe soles, elastic fibers, waterproof breathable membranes, and artificial leather. By integrating the shoe material structure with polyester based materials, it is possible to further develop shoes with a single polyester system material, in order to avoid disassembly and classification due to material differences after the end of the shoe's service life. Chemical recycling can be directly carried out to achieve a fully recycled economy. Compared to traditional thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) commonly used in shoe materials, this technology can significantly reduce carbon emissions by over 40%, while also considering product performance, demonstrating the innovative value of "carbon reduction, high functionality, and recyclability".
