Welcome "Light" to enjoy the art and design works of Yuan Ze University at Jingang Lantern Festival

        Lin Chuqing, associate professor of the Department of Art and Design of Yuan Ze University, led the CKfablab team to participate in the "2023 Jingang Lantern Festival" sponsored by the Culture Bureau of the Tainan Municipal Government for the first time with the collaboration between industry and school program, and was selected to build the "Welcome to the Light" parametric design space device in Yuejingang, Tainan Salt Water District, from now on to February 12.

        The selection plan for the "2023 Tianjin and Hong Kong Lantern Festival" selected nearly 30 works on water, land and boat houses from more than 80 works in the whole stage. Associate Professor Lin Chuqing said that the outdoor space device of "Welcome to the Light" takes the elements of "Yuejin Port, Spirit and Bee Cannon" as the design core, and transforms the activity state of the saltwater Bee Cannon in the sky into a covering space experience; It also uses "light" as the medium to explain the relationship between the three. The device is full of beam modules. Through sensing the behavior of the viewer, it presents different flashing patterns and flows, creating an impressive five-sense experience.

        The members of the CKfablab team include Zhang Youyun, Huang Yiwen, Yang Junjia, senior students of the Department of Arts and Design, and Chen Hongyu, Chen Xuanyu, Lin Xiuzhen, and Chen Huiyi, research assistants of the Institute of Arts and Design. This work is about 3.5 meters long, 2.2 meters wide, and 3 meters high. In addition to aesthetic creativity, it also applies the digital technology application of interdisciplinary study of the Department of Arts and Design to the "Light" Pro work. The entity uses 3D printing, CNC tool machine, digital manufacturing of robot arm and Arduino interactive design technology. All components are made at the base of Yuan Ze University maker. From parameter design to construction, they are also completed by members themselves, demonstrating the spirit of teamwork and creative practice.
