The 22nd Y.Z. Hsu Scientific Award Ceremony recognizes 28 outstanding researchers

        The 22nd Y.Z. Hsu Scientific Award Ceremony was held on September 17th by Far Eastern Y Z. The Hsu Science&Technology Memorial Foundation was held at Far Eastern Group Shangri La in Taipei. Representatives from various institutions, including the National Science Council, Ministry of Education, and the National Education Agency, as well as relatives and friends of the award winners, attended the event to share the honor and joy of the 28 award winners. The foundation also specially invited Academician Sinica Lin Liqiong to give a speech on the topic of "Towards Net Zero Carbon Reduction - Taking Key Nanocatalytic Technologies as an Example".

        This ceremony presents five awards, including "Y.Z. Hsu Scientific Chair Professor," "Y.Z. Hsu Scientific Paper Award," "Y.Z. Hsu Technology Invention Award," "Y.Z. Hsu Yuan Ze Chair Professor," and "Y.Z. Hsu Outstanding Professor Award," with a total of 28 recipients. Among them, each winner of the "Y.Z. Hsu Scientific Chair Professor" was awarded NTD 1.5 million, and the four winners are: Professor Liu Zhiwei from National Taiwan University (in the field of nanotechnology), Professor Liu Baicun from National Chiao Tung University (in the field of optoelectronic technology), Professor Yang Muhua (in the field of biotechnology and medicine), and Professor Zhang Mubin from National Central University (in the field of green technology). The achievements of the awardee, who has been working in the academic field for many years, have been unanimously recognized by the judging committee.

        Far Eastern Y Z. Hsu Science&Technology Memorial Foundation is a Far Eastern Group affiliated enterprise 、 The Xu family and friends donated to establish it in memory of its founder, Mr. Yu Xiang Hsu. Unlike Taiwan, where public welfare resources are mostly focused on social welfare or cultural education, the Yu Xiang Hsu Foundation chooses "technological innovation" as its purpose and holds the "Y.Z. Hsu Scientific Award" every year to recognize top technology talents. Douglas Hsu believes that scientific research must undergo long-term accumulation in order to achieve innovative breakthroughs. Therefore, scientists need resources and encouragement from all walks of life in order to fearlessly face difficulties and move forward courageously. The Y. Z. Hsu Scientific Award starts with six emerging technology fields, hoping to ignite the attention and support of various sectors for technological development, and also hoping that the general public will join in responding.

        The Y.Z. Hsu Scientific Award continues to focus on six emerging technology fields, including nanotechnology, information and communication technology, optoelectronics, biotechnology and pharmaceuticals, green technology, and artificial intelligence. To date, a total of 495 awards have been presented, with a total prize of over NTD2 billion, demonstrating outstanding achievements. The review committee for this session is composed of Academician Sinica Wu Yanhua as the Section Chief and responsible for the review of biotechnology and pharmaceuticals. Academician Chen Lijun is responsible for the review of nanotechnology, Professor Lin Yiping from Yangming National Chiao Tung University is responsible for the review of information and communication technology, Academician Zheng Jianhong is responsible for the review of optoelectronic technology, Honorary Professor Jiang Benji from National Taiwan University is responsible for the review of green technology, and Professor Chen Mingxian from National Taiwan University is responsible for the review of artificial intelligence. Due to the large number of applications, after a three-stage review process of six months and the participation of over a hundred judges, the final list of winners for this year was decided, and each winner is well deserved.

        Academician Lin Liqiong quoted Nobel Prize winner R. in his speech Smalley's famous quote is "Be the scientist, save the world」 Emphasizing that scientists should actively use forward-looking technology to address global climate change challenges, achieve sustainable development of society, and align with the spirit of the Y.Z. Hsu Scientific Award to promote scientific research and fulfill corporate social responsibility.

• Y. Z. Hsu Scientific Chair Professor: Each person will receive a prize of NTD 1.5 million, totaling NTD 6 million        

• Y. Z. Hsu Scientific Paper Award: Prize of NTD 300000 per paper, totaling NTD 3.3 million        

• Y. Z. Hsu Technology Invention Award: NTD 300000 per invention, totaling NTD 1.5 million        

• Y. Z. Hsu Yuan Ze Chair Professor: Each person will receive a prize of NTD 600000 (limited to application by Professor Yuan Ze University) 
• Y. Z.
