Far EasTone Telecommunication donates 100 sets of '5G remote diagnosis and treatment in home emergency care solutions' to assist primary healthcare institutions

        Far EasTone Telecommunication responded to the National Health Insurance Agency's "Pilot Program for Home Emergency Care" and held a press conference on November 19th to announce the implementation of the "National Health Home Emergency Care and Public Welfare Donation" program. They donated 100 sets of "5G Remote Diagnosis and Treatment Home Emergency Care Solutions" to four major medical associations, including the Clinic Association Federation, Taiwan Community Hospital Association, Taiwan Home Medicine Association, and Taiwan Home Medicine Association, injecting technological capabilities into primary healthcare.

        The 'In Home Emergency Care Pilot Program' provides alternative services for three types of patients, including home medical emergency patients, residents of care institutions, and people with mild infectious diseases and limited mobility, outside of hospitalization, reducing the burden on patients and their families and avoiding cross infection within the hospital. The "5G Remote Diagnosis and Treatment in Home Emergency Care Solution" donated by Far EasTone Telecommunication includes a virtual clinic platform built in medical institutions for remote viewing, remote monitoring hardware devices connected to homes or care institutions, with a total value of nearly NTD 3 million. We look forward to using this technology to accelerate the promotion of digital healthcare services in primary healthcare institutions, reduce inconvenience for patients and their families, and alleviate medical capacity.

        Chee Ching President stated that, unlike pursuing the "killer applications" of 5G, Far EasTone Telecommunication will invest its research and development efforts in 5G "rescuer applications". By combining 5G networks with software development and cloud technology, it will independently develop a 5G remote diagnosis and treatment platform, delivering medical resources to 15 counties, cities, and 56 rural areas, covering all mountainous and offshore areas recognized by the Ministry of Health and Welfare. It will also extend its application to emergency rescue, video clinics, home long-term care, and other fields.

        At present, Far EasTone Telecommunication "Health+" App has opened hundreds of virtual clinics one after another. After downloading the app for free, the public can connect various physiological measurement devices such as blood glucose, blood pressure, sleep, weight, body fat, pulse, continuous heart rate, exercise time, etc., automatically upload health data, assist elderly people and caregivers in easy health management, and remote physicians can also grasp the public's health data and self-care situation.
