Far Eastern Memorial Hospital fulfills its social responsibility by donating ZOLL suction devices to assist the frontline rescue efforts in New Taipei

        On February 6th, Far Eastern Memorial Hospital held a "ZOLL suction device donation ceremony" and announced the donation of 9 ZOLL transfer suction devices to the New Taipei Fire Department, Taiwan Disaster Medical Team Development Association, and Taiwan Medical Rescue Association to enhance emergency medical rescue capabilities. This donation is not only a significant milestone in the sharing of medical resources, but also demonstrates the close cooperation between medical and firefighting units, fulfilling Far Eastern Memorial Hospital's long-term commitment to social welfare and medical rescue.

        Strengthen rescue equipment and use ZOLL suction devices to safeguard the safety of patient transportation

        During the COVID-19 pandemic, Far Eastern Memorial Hospital has been donated ZOLL transfer type suction devices and deployed in intensive care units and suction treatment departments. Through its exhalation isolation system, it reduces the risk of exposure for medical staff and plays a critical role in treatment. With the easing of the epidemic, in order to maximize the efficiency of the equipment, Deputy Section Chief Fan Jiemin of the Emergency Medicine Department at Far Eastern Memorial Hospital is promoting the donation of this batch of transfer equipment to relevant emergency rescue units, further supporting EMT (Emergency Junior Staff Engineer) in providing rescue support for OHCA (Heartbeat Arrest Before Arrival) patients.

        Zheng Shilong, Chief of the Thoracic Department, stated that the donated ZOLL suction device has precise ventilation control, stable oxygenation support, and high endurance, which can effectively improve the emergency rescue efficiency of ambulances and bring multiple advantages, including stabilizing the patient's suction condition, improving emergency rescue efficiency, reducing the risk of secondary injury, and is suitable for emergency transportation of patients with chronic lung disease, pneumonia, and other conditions. In addition, its high-performance battery design ensures that patients can receive sustained and stable suction support during remote area referrals or long-distance transportation.

        Vice President Peng Yusen stated that the sharing and optimization of medical resources can enhance emergency response capabilities and ensure that more patients receive treatment within the golden rescue time.
