Asia Cement Corporation takes the lead in creating a comprehensive carbon footprint for all products in the new era of low-carbon cement

        Asia Cement Corporation announced on March 10th that all of its cement products have obtained carbon footprint verification, becoming the first cement company in Taiwan to cover carbon footprint verification for all product types. Among them, low-carbon cement products have set a record for the lowest carbon footprint of cement products in Taiwan, demonstrating the company's leadership in low-carbon technology and green processes. Zhang Zhipeng, Vice President and General Plant Manager, stated that, Asia Cement Corporation actively creates a transparent carbon footprint for cement products, responding to the market's demand for high-quality and low-carbon building materials. At the same time, it enables customers to have a clear understanding of carbon footprint data when choosing, thereby improving carbon reduction management efficiency. This verification represents an important step taken by Asia Cement Corporation towards low-carbon transformation, and also establishes a more credible carbon management model for the cement industry.

        The carbon footprint verification stage of general cement products is mostly limited to the production process within the manufacturing plant. However, Asia Cement Corporation actively extends its scope to the transportation link, covering the complete supply chain carbon emission data from the manufacturing plant to various storage and transportation stations to ensure data integrity and transparency, and to meet the needs of downstream customers for cement carbon footprint information. Compared to traditional carbon footprint verification, this set of operational procedures is more complex and has a longer execution time. For this reason, Asia Cement Corporation has invested significant resources to strengthen its data collection, analysis, and verification mechanisms, ensuring that all data meets international standards and is authentic, setting a new benchmark for transparent carbon reduction management in the cement industry.

        After years of technical research and development, quality optimization, and customer communication, Asia Cement Corporation has successfully launched cement products with the lowest carbon footprint in Taiwan. Among them, bulk masonry cement is 753 kg CO2e/ton, while bagged masonry cement (40kg) is only 30 kg CO2e/bag. The above data proves that, The outstanding achievements of Asia Cement Corporation in low-carbon technology innovation and process optimization also demonstrate the extension of carbon reduction benefits from the production end to all levels of the supply chain, further reducing the overall environmental impact of the building materials industry.

Since 2022, it has received an A - (leadership level) rating in the CDP Carbon Disclosure Project for three consecutive years, which is the best performance in Taiwan's cement industry. Especially in water resource management, Asia Cement Corporation actively promotes water-saving measures and water recycling programs, and has successfully passed the ISO 46001 water resource efficiency management system certification, elevating the 2024 CDP water safety questionnaire rating to A - (leadership level).
