Far Eastern Magazine / Editorial Room

The "2025 Smart City Exhibition" will be held from March 18th to 21st, with Far EasTone Telecommunication exhibiting under the theme of "Far EasTone Telecommunication Big Data+AI+IoT Net Zero Sustainable Vitality Digital Transformation and Business Opportunities". Over 20 innovative applications related to "Net Zero City" and "Digital Empowerment" will be launched in the Taipei exhibition area, receiving high praise. On March 20th, more green communication and healthcare solutions will be showcased in the Kaohsiung exhibition area, helping cities and industries in southern Taiwan catch the high-speed train of digital net zero dual axis transformation. In response to the theme of this year's exhibition "Digital and Green Transformation", Far Eastern Electronic Toll Collection also teamed up with its subsidiary Far Eastern Smart and ITS Taiwan on March 19th to jointly hold the "International Smart Transport Summit" with the theme of "Road User Charging for Net Zero Roads". During the forum, a memorandum of understanding (MOU) was signed for the "Asia Pacific Road User Charging Alliance" to promote regional cooperation, jointly address the growing challenges of urban transportation, and practice sustainable transportation development.
Far EasTone Telecommunication achieves outstanding results in net zero cities and digital empowerment
Far EasTone Telecommunication has long been deeply rooted in the core technology of "Big Data+AI+IoT" (Big Data, artificial intelligence, Internet of Things (IoT)), expanding new economic services, and deeply integrating AI and artificial intelligence applications into various digital services. Faced with the anxiety of enterprise transformation brought about by the AI wave, Far EasTone Telecommunication not only empowers employees through the strategy of "AI for all", but also utilizes the self-developed "Far EasTone Telecommunication Intelligence" AI application platform to internally apply AI transformation in IT maintenance, security, human resources, legal, procurement, finance, as well as telecommunications fraud prevention, and externally assist enterprise customers and government departments in mastering the key skills of AI practice and accelerating transformation.
In the "Digital Empowerment" theme of the Taipei exhibition area, Far EasTone Telecommunication not only showcased its debut "Far EasTone Telecommunication Intelligence" AI knowledge management and application platform, but also attracted attention for its built-in "IT Intelligence" AI operation assistant, the "Intelligent Operations Center". Faced with the challenges of rapid growth in business and data volume, cross platform and cloud integration upgrades, as well as constantly improving security and compliance requirements, Far EasTone Telecommunication's "Intelligent Operations Center" integrates independently developed "Multi Cloud Monitoring and Governance Platform (IIMS)", "Information Service Management Platform (IGMS)" and "IT Intelligence" to create an enterprise level information warfare center that can monitor system performance/logs, data collection and analysis, event management and other functions in real-time, optimizing IT maintenance processes. The "IT Intelligence" intelligent maintenance assistant, combined with generative AI, solves the problem of massive information for the maintenance team, quickly finds and analyzes the root cause of events, drives maintenance work with AI, and improves overall operational efficiency and service stability.
In the "Net Zero City" theme, Far EasTone Telecommunication's "Smart Charging Service" integrates networked charging stations and platform systems, providing car owners and field owners with one-stop complete information and real-time management, as well as 7x24 all-weather maintenance services. As a technology capital, the number of electric vehicles in Hsinchu City is growing rapidly. The transportation department of Hsinchu City has invested heavily in related construction and Far EasTone Telecommunications has built 300 charging stations to create the highest density of charging services in Taiwan's public parking lot. The two sides have also joined hands to build Taiwan's first public charging station for electric buses, and the pilot bus has officially started operation in December 2024, achieving a milestone in low-carbon transportation.
At the Kaohsiung Smart City Exhibition, Far EasTone Telecommunications showcased 11 innovative application services spanning "Net Zero City", "Digital Empowerment", and "Full Age Care". Among them, the theme of "Net Zero City" covers solutions such as transportation, campus, and energy transformation, especially the integration of multi energy systems in the "Disaster Prevention Microgrid". In the event of a disaster, it can provide at least 72 hours of autonomous power supply for remote areas, ensuring power supply for shelters and emergency centers, and maintaining rescue and basic living; It can also dispatch multiple energy sources in daily life, flexibly optimize power supply, and reduce energy costs for users. The theme of "Digital Empowerment" showcases two major applications: the "Next Generation Building Intelligent Decision Center" that has already achieved success at the Kaohsiung Port Tourism Center, and the "Enterprise Cloud Security Line" created by Far EasTone Telecommunication through its self built local public cloud "FET Cloud".
The "Smart Healthcare Theme Pavilion" has always been a major feature of the Kaohsiung exhibition area. Far EasTone Telecommunication also showcases three major applications of "whole age care" in response to the elderly care needs in southern Taiwan, including Far EasTone Telecommunication's "Integrated Home Healthcare Care Solution", "Health+APP", and the innovative application of "Home Remote Rehabilitation" showcased in collaboration with the startup accelerator partner "Dragon King", interacting with the public.
International Smart Transport Summit Debuts Far Eastern Electronic Toll Collection Initiative to Establish Asia Pacific Road Toll Alliance
Far Eastern Electronic Toll Collection, together with its subsidiary Far Eastern Intelligence and ITS Taiwan, jointly held the "International Smart Transport Summit" on March 19th with the theme of "Road User Charging for Net Zero Roads". Chairman Shi Yifang of ITS Taiwan represented Taiwan and signed the "Asia Pacific Road User Charging Alliance" memorandum of understanding (MOU) with ITS association directors and representatives from Thailand, New Zealand, India and other countries in the presence of nearly 200 attending dignitaries, hoping to focus on "Road User Charging for Net Zero Roads", propose solutions for traffic congestion in various countries, and jointly promote the Asia Pacific region. Regional sustainable transportation development.

Looking ahead to the future, members of the alliance will take turns hosting the "Asia Pacific Road Toll Forum", becoming a platform for policy makers, industry experts, and transportation professionals to exchange ideas. The forum will continue to discuss topics such as ETC systems, congestion pricing, and road user pricing, and research the application of AI and Big Data technology in smart toll models to address the challenges of moving towards sustainable transportation.
Zhang Yongchang, Executive Director and President of Far Eastern Electronic Toll Collection, in his capacity as ITS Taiwan Executive Supervisor, stated that the establishment of the Asia Pacific Road Toll Alliance will help Taiwan share the successful experience of ETC and ITS.
