In order to promote the sustainable transformation of the textile industry, the Resource Recycling Agency of the Ministry of Environment has actively advocated the "Guidelines for Textile Recycling Procurement" in recent years, encouraging government agencies and private enterprises at all levels to prioritize the use of environmentally friendly materials that are "easy to recycle" in product design and procurement stages. Far EasTone Telecommunication responded to the policy and partnered with uniform supplier Far Eastern Group Far Eastern Apparel to upgrade employee uniforms to sustainable products that comply with circular design. Both received praise from the Resource Recycling Agency and set a benchmark for companies to practice recycled economy.Textiles have always been one of the challenges in Taiwan's resource recycling, with high waste but low actual recycling and reuse rates. It is urgent to transform from the source. Far EasTone Telecommunication has long been deeply involved in ESG, not only integrating sustainable concepts into its core operations, but also taking the lead in introducing a circular procurement mechanism. Starting from 2023, it will switch to 100% polyester fiber fabrics that are "easy to recycle" for winter and summer uniforms, and simultaneously inspect product structure and processes to ensure that they can enter the recycling and remanufacturing system in the future.
In this uniform update project, Far EasTone Telecommunications has collaborated closely with Far Eastern Group Far Eastern Apparel to introduce circular thinking from the design stage, optimizing fabric selection, structural design, and sewing techniques, while considering both wearability and recycling convenience. Far Eastern Group Far Eastern Apparel also leverages its resource integration advantages to provide comprehensive green solutions from design, raw materials, manufacturing, recycling to remanufacturing, assisting business partners in achieving the dual goals of "recycled economy" and "carbon reduction action".
Vice President of Far Eastern Group Far Eastern Apparel, Xu Weichun, stated that the collaboration with Far EaseTone Telecommunication to introduce eco-friendly uniforms not only strengthens the company's image but also effectively implements the concept of recycled economy. We are honored to receive recognition from the Ministry of Environment along with Far EasTone Telecommunication, and we will continue to expand our Green Solution capabilities in the future to assist more businesses in transitioning from uniforms to net zero carbon emissions and sustainability development
Since the release of the "Recycled Economy Procurement Guidelines" by the Ministry of Environment in 2023, over a hundred government agencies and enterprises have responded. In the future, we will further promote the application of recycling and remanufacturing technologies such as "Circular Label" and "T2T (Textile to Textile)" to enhance the overall efficiency of textile recycling and reuse.
The cooperation between Far EasTone Telecommunication and Far Eastern Group Far Eastern Apparel not only demonstrates the company's commitment to environmental responsibility, but also injects new momentum into the sustainable transformation of Taiwan's textile industry. We hope that more companies will invest in green procurement and circular design in the future, and work together to create a resource sustainable future.
