Far EasTone Telecommunication marched into Jade Mountain to build a communication base for disaster prevention. On August 2, Chen Yaoxiang, chairman of NCC joined hands with Far EasTone Telecommunication, ChungHwa Telecom and Taiwan Mobile Co., Ltd to hold the Opening ceremony of mobile communication base station in the north peak of Jade Mountain in the Yushan province Park Tataka Visitor Centre. In the future, the emergency rescue energy in mountainous areas will be greatly enhanced and a safer climbing environment will be provided.
The project links Yushan province Park Management Department, Jiayi Forest Management of Bureau of Forestry, Council of Agriculture, Executive Yuan, National Taiwan University Experimental Forest, Nantou County Government, Yushan Meteorological Station, Central Weather Bureau and other units. Since March 2012, after environmental assessment and application of soil and water conservation, geological survey and other operations, due to geographic problems, related solar energy engineering, digital microwave transmission system engineering equipment were carried to north peak of Jade Mountain through manual work. It took seven years to complete the project, costing more than 40 million yuan, and nearly 1,000 conveyors and constructors were involved to complete this arduous task.
The operation of this base station can effectively improve the coverage of mobile communication in Jade Mountain Peaks, batongguan Trail, South Section of Central Range and the section to Tataka of Line 21, and greatly improve the quality of mobile communication in Yushan province Park and the effectiveness of emergency rescue in mountain areas. Rao Zhonghua, Executive Vice President of Far EasTone Telecommunication Network Technology Department, said that in order to ensure the best communication quality, even in the event of major disasters, engineers on standby at Far EasTone Telecommunication often arrived at the scene with rescue workers at the first time. This is Far EasTone Telecommunication Network Engineering Unit's dedication and perseverance! All people involved in the project carried solar panels and other heavy objects on their shoulders on the steep mountain roads to complete the handling of about 20 tons of materials and accomplish this arduous task. This time, together with ChungHwa Telecom and Taiwan Mobile Co., Ltd., we set an example for industrial cooperation. NCC said that it would continue to implement the policies of "Increasing the penetration rate of National Park Mobile Communication Infrastructure" and " Plan for Strengthening the Construction of Communication Infrastructure for Disaster Prevention", and work with telecom operators to discuss the construction of base stations in order to enhance the coverage and stability of communication in national parks, protect the safety of life and property of mountain climbers, tourists and patrols.
