On September 23, Far EasTone Telecommunication invited 5G pioneer team member such as Amdocs, ASKEY and HTCto complete the first demonstration of "5G signal coverage of high altitude extension" through 5G equipment carried by unmanned aerial vehicles, in the future, it can assist in disaster relief tasks and help to overcome severe environment and terrain Limit including road and bridge collapse, typhoon, earthquake, mudslide and so on. It can provide real-time situation of disaster relief personnel, which will open a new era of 5G disaster relief application!
There were two major tests for the application of Far EasTone Telecommunication’s 5G. The first project was to extend 5G signal to meet the needs of emergency relief, carried 5G related equipment on high altitude vehicles, and successfully transmited 8K images with 5G low latency efficiency, verified the ability of Far EasTone Telecommunication’s 5G network being used as emergency relief and analyze the possibility of vertical field application of 5g related network. The second project was 5G wireless signal interference detection and optimization on the high floors. FET, in cooperation with Amdocs, an international well-known mobile communication optimization plant, and the unmanned aerial vehicle provided by GEOSAT Aerospace & Technology Inc. and communication test equipment, collected the wireless signal and interference source analysis of the high-altitude base station surrounded by 360° without dead ends, and improve the efficiency of network optimization and optimize the signal quality of high-rise mobile communication.
Amdocs is a leading manufacturer of mobile network services, wireless network analysis and network function virtualization (NFV / SDN) solutions. In the future, Amdocs will continue to conduct feasibility experiment analysis of 5G 3D base station acceptance (SSV: single site verification) with Far EasTone Telecommunication. The project includes completing the aerial 3D coverage and signal quality optimization of 5G base station and providing the future 5G field test basis for base station network planning, parameter setting, test optimization and acceptance standards of mass MIMO in different scenarios with the new technology and new frequency band introduced by 5G RF.
