In response to the digital economy era and the development of artificial intelligence technology, the Department of industrial engineering and Management of Yuan Ze University has built a "multi field intelligent human-computer interaction classroom" by combining teaching resources in different fields such as statistical analysis, human factor engineering and design, artificial intelligence, and the Internet of things (IoT), providing a good learning environment for teachers and students, and improving students' ability in information technology, artificial intelligence, and data analysis.
Associate Professor Lin Ruifeng from the Department of Engineering and Management responsible for this project explained that traditional human-computer interaction only focuses on functional control and information reception mechanisms between users and electronic devices, while Smart Human-Computer Interaction is based on traditional human-computer interaction and combines artificial intelligence applications to collect user information using non-contact devices such as cameras, eye trackers, thermal imagers, and robots, Develop artificial intelligence models that can be used to detect and discern user behavior and status, enabling electronic products in daily life to understand user needs and create a new generation of human-machine interaction experiences.
In addition, through multi field classrooms, smart human-machine interaction technology can be demonstrated to be applied in teaching and home spaces in the future. Students taking courses can unleash their creativity in daily fields, utilizing knowledge of statistical analysis, programming languages, AI modeling, human factors engineering, and the Internet of Things (IoT) to develop smart human-machine interaction technologies. For example, after taking a programming language course, students can edit Open Source open-source software with the assistance of ChatGPT to achieve the application of intelligent human-machine interaction technology, such as intelligent identification of whether guests are wearing masks correctly, whether they have cold symptoms, and whether they are sitting well.
Lai Weichen, a master's student in the Department of Engineering and Management, stated that the multi field classroom is designed like a home space. In addition to providing a comfortable environment, there are also multiple innovative devices that use interesting application technologies for experiments in the classroom, which can stimulate learning motivation and potential.
Yuan Ze University has long been committed to improving teaching quality and academic research level, cultivating students' practical abilities and innovative spirit, while providing a high-quality environment. Professor Cai Jieyuan pointed out that in recent years, the Department of Industry and Management has integrated courses such as Action Technology and Cloud Computing, Human Factors Engineering and Design, Global Operations Management, and Big Data Analysis to equip graduates with the professional skills required for "smart production".
