Douglas Hsu delivers a speech at Far Eastern Memorial Hospital's 43rd anniversary celebration

        Douglas Hsu was invited to attend the 43rd anniversary celebration of Far Eastern Memorial Hospital. In addition to acknowledging the efforts and achievements of his colleagues, he also encouraged everyone to actively enhance their ability to apply new technologies and manage and plan for a new future.

                Celebrating the 43rd anniversary of Far Eastern Memorial Hospital is not only a time to celebrate growth, but also an opportunity to build consensus and adjust our pace. Therefore, I would like to take this opportunity to refocus with everyone on the future direction.

        Firstly, Science and Technology are of paramount importance, including the improvement of software and hardware equipment, automation of operational processes, and the ability of personnel to utilize technology. In terms of the current "nurse patient ratio", the burden on each nursing staff is heavy. If technology can be effectively utilized, the workload can be increased and everyone's burden can be reduced.

        Secondly, Manage, Far Eastern Memorial Hospital's professional capabilities and enthusiastic service are widely recognized by various sectors. However, after more than 40 years of development, the original space and organizational structure are no longer sufficient to meet the needs, inevitably affecting the quality of service, patient consultation process, and experience. Therefore, the board of directors plans to establish a second branch in Neili, and although the funding will rely on the support of the foundation, the internal structure of the hospital must also be adjusted. This requires macro and good management. When formulating relevant plans, we cannot only prepare for today and tomorrow, but also look to the future and imagine what Far Eastern Memorial Hospital will look like in five or ten years? Only in this way can the upcoming scale and design better meet long-term needs, and better leverage the characteristics and strengths of Oriental Petrochemical (Taiwan). Of course, in addition to expanding space, personnel training and development are also important aspects of management. Not only should they have technological capabilities, but they should also strengthen their foreign language skills in order to keep up with the world. Especially Far Eastern Group is a globally operated group, and all colleagues must have an international perspective and ability.

        43 years ago, the founder fearlessly founded Far Eastern Memorial Hospital amidst doubts about the inconvenient transportation in Banqiao and the difficulty in recruiting doctors, hoping to take care of employees and local residents nearby. This journey has not been easy, thanks to the support and efforts of all colleagues, the hospital has gradually grown and transformed, and has also gained an excellent reputation. Therefore, I believe that although the preparation of the second branch still needs to overcome various difficulties, as long as everyone works hard, Far Eastern Memorial Hospital will be able to upgrade and update smoothly, provide better services for patients, and create better results for themselves!
