Celebrating 74th Anniversary - Honor and Sharing in the Chronicles of Far Eastern Group

        October 20th is the 74th anniversary of the establishment of Far Eastern Group in Taiwan. Over the years, with a vision of being based in Taiwan and looking at the world, the group's tentacles have extended to multiple countries in Asia, the Americas, and Africa, and its business map spans across the top ten industries. On this important day, let's look back together on the past year (September 2022 to August 2023), which new forces joined, important milestones, touching public welfare deeds, and the glorious deeds of Far Easterner.

        September 2022

        Far Eastern New Century Corporation's "Bio3-PET recycling of industrial waste gas to produce polyester low-carbon fibers" was awarded the "Sustainable Innovation Award" by The International Textile Manufacturers Federation (ITMF). (Figure 1)

        Far EasTone Telecommunications and Far Eastern New Century Corporation have both been awarded the "Taiwan's Most Outstanding Company Award" by Asia Money Asia Magazine.

        At this World Cup, a total of 9 national teams will wear the "environmentally friendly and explosive resistant jersey" developed by Far Eastern New Century Corporation.

        Asia Cement Corporation was awarded the "Taiwan Recycled Economy Award Product Award - Outstanding Award" by the Chung Hua Institution for Economic Research.

        Asia Cement Corporation cooperates with the alumni association of National Taiwan University School of Continuing Education Promotion to introduce program education courses in 10 rural areas primary schools in Hualien County.

        A 6.8 magnitude earthquake occurred in Luding County, Ganzi Prefecture, Sichuan, and Sichuan Yadong Cement donated CNY 1 million to assist in disaster relief.

        Jiangxi Yadong Cement Wharf Limestone Mine was awarded the title of "Top Ten Mines" and the Honorary Medal.

        An earthquake of magnitude 6.8 occurred in Hualien County. Asia Cement Corporation, Far Eastern Department Stores, Hualien and A.Mart jointly donated about 1600 supplies.

        Far Eastern Department Stores has announced trial operation and organized a public welfare donation event.

        FE SOGO Department stores opened with a new renovation of their Kaohsiung store.

        Far Eastern Big City Shopping Malls won the "World Sustainable Citizenship Award - Little Giants Group - Eighth Place" award.

        The "5G remote diagnosis and treatment platform" independently developed by Far EasTone Telecommunications has won the "Outstanding Operational Transformation Award - Model Award" and the "ESG Special Award" at the Harvard Business Review Digital Transformation Summit Awards. (Figure 2)

        Far Eastern International Bank has won three awards, namely the "Best Brand Image Award", the "Best Wealth Management Award", and the "Best Social Affinity Award", in the Excellence "Outstanding Bank Competition"; In addition, he won the first place in Group B of the Financial Supervisory Commission's "Trust 2.0 Program Evaluation - Elderly Care Trust Award" as the "Far Eastern International Bank Elderly Care Trust".

        Far Eastern General Construction Inc. has signed a contract to undertake the CQ890 section project of the Mass Rapid Transit System's Wanda Zhonghe Shulin Line (Phase II).

        The "Far Eastern Construction Forest" project built by Far Eastern General Construction Inc. has won the "Excellent Planning and Design of Chinese Architecture - Residential Super High Rise Group Award" and the "First Golden Stone Award".

        Far Eastern Electronic Toll Collection has published a book titled "Cultivation - Digital Transformation of National Service, Taiwan ETC's Journey to the Sea in Promoting Smart Transportation Industry", documenting the journey of promoting national highway ETC.

        Yuanchuang Intelligence, Metropoliia, and Industrial Technology Research Institute have signed a MOU and will collaborate to expand services in the United States in the future.

        Far Eastern Memorial Hospital has passed the new version of HIMSS (American Society for Medical Information and Management Systems) EMRAM Level 6 electronic medical record international certification.

        October 2022

        Far Eastern New Century Corporation held the "Far Eastern Group Fellowship and Far Eastern New Century Corporation Classic Marathon Event" at Xinpu Chemical Fiber Factory.

        The new low energy nitrogen and oxygen plant of Air Liquid Far Eastern Nanzi has officially opened.

        Jiangxi Yadong Cement donated PC42.5 bags of cement worth CNY70000 to assist in the construction of village roads in Xujia Shanxia Natural Village.

        Far EasTone Telecommunications won the IDC "Future Enterprise Award - Business Model Innovation Award" for its "AI Detect Fraud Phone" project.

        The Taiwan Branch of the International Society for Project Management held the "Project Management Award", and Far EasTone Telecommunications won the "Benchmark Enterprise Award" and "Benchmark Project Award".

        Far Eastern International Bank held a press conference on "Ten Joys in the Metaverse", which is the first bank in Taiwan to integrate the metaverse experience. (Figure 3)

        Far Eastern International Bank has won both the "Best Popular Brand Award" and "Best Product Award" at the "National Brand E.SUN BANK Award".

        Business Traveler Asia Pacific announced the results of the annual Best Award selection, and Far Eastern Group Shangri La Hotel in Taipei was awarded the "Best Business Hotel in Taipei".

        Yuan Ze University and the R20 Climate Action Regional Organization jointly organized the "R20xYZU Climate Change Sustainability Summit Forum", with the group affiliated enterprise participating in the event and signing the R20 Climate Initiative. (Figure 4)

        Yuan Ze University, Asia Eastern University of Science and Technology swept 13 medals from the "Taiwan Innotech Expo".

        Yuan Ze University and The University of Queensland in Australia have completed the signing of a 3+1 bridging degree cooperation agreement.

        Asia Eastern University of Science and Technology signed a memorandum of cooperation with the University of Swatini.

        Far EasternY.Z.Hsu Science&Technology Memorial Foundation held the "Y.Z.Hsu Scientific Award Ceremony", praising 29 research elites.

                November 2022

        Ten companies, including Far Eastern New Century Corporation, Asia Cement Corporation, Far Eastern Department Stores, Far EastTone Telecommunications, U-Ming Marine Transport, Oriental Union Chemical Corporation, Everest Textile, Far Eastern International Bank, FE SOGO Department stores, and Far Eastern Memorial Hospital, He won 37 awards for Global Corporate Sustainability Awards (GCSA) and Taiwan Corporate Sustainability Award (TCSA) in one go, and Douglas Hsu was also awarded the TCSA Corporate Sustainability Lifetime Achievement Award. (Figure 5)

        Far Eastern New Century Corporation's Xinpu Chemical Fiber Factory and Asia Cement Corporation's Hualien Factory were both awarded the "Outstanding Greenhouse Gas Reduction Manufacturer" by Industrial Development Bureau, Ministry of Economic Affairs.

        Oriental Petrochemical (Taiwan) Green Wood Kuanyin Factory and Kuanyin Second Factory have both won the Environmental Protection Administration's "Recyclable Waste Recycling and Treatment Industry" Excellence Award.

        Far EasTone Telecommunications and Ya Tung Ready Mixed Concrete Corporation were awarded the "Sustainability - Outstanding Award" by the British Standards Institution (BSI).

        U-Ming Marine Transport held a new ship naming ceremony for the "Yuhao Ship", "Yuhan Ship", and "Yuhuan Ship".

        FE SOGO Department stores and A.Mart's mass sales both won the Silver Award of the National Enterprise Environmental Protection Award, while Far Eastern Department stores also received the Copper Award. FE SOGO Department stores also received the "Low Carbon Product Award" Special Excellence Award.

        Far EasTone Telecommunications was awarded the "National Talent Development Award - Large Enterprise Award", and was awarded the "Government Team Award - Excellence" and "Innovation Award" at the "Private Participation in Public Construction Gold Award" by the Ministry of Finance for the "Taoyuan City Comprehensive Installation and Maintenance of Energy Saving Street Lights".

        Arcoa Communication officially operates its e-commerce comprehensive operation warehouse in Pingzhen, Taoyuan.

        Far Eastern International Bank was awarded the "Triple A Private Capital Awards 2022- Wealth Management Bank Best Brand Image Award" by The Asset Asset magazine; Bankee Community Bank also received the "Digital Finance Award - Digital Innovation Award - Gold Award" from Commercial Times.

        The Far Eastern Group Shangri La Hotel in Taipei has been selected as one of the "Taiwan's Most Beautiful Hotel Awards - Top 7 Most Beautiful Metropolitan Hotels" on eBay.

        Yu Chang Technical Commercial Vocational High School students majoring in motor and electronics participated in the "111 Year Industrial Skills Competition for Advanced Secondary Schools" and won the "Indoor Wiring Job" Excellence Award.

        December 2022

        Far Eastern New Century Corporation's Xinpu Chemical Fiber Factory is the first enterprise in Taiwan to pass the "PET Remanufactured Ester Granules Suitable for Food Container Packaging" audit.

        Far Eastern New Century Corporation has won the "International Innovation Award (IIA) Competition - Product Innovation Award" and the "National Innovation Excellence Award" for its innovative recycling and regeneration technology. (Figure 6)

        Yuanfang Industry (Shanghai) won the "Industrial Water Reuse Case - Excellence Award" in Shanghai for its "Concentrated Water Recycling and Condensate Recycling" project.

        Asia Cement Corporation and FE SOGO Department stores have both been awarded the National Sustainability Development Award.

        Huang Yadong Cement donated PC42.5 bags of cement worth CNY68000 to assist in the construction of village primary schools and beautiful villages.

        Ya Tung Ready Mixed Concrete Corporation, Far Eastern Construction, Far Eastern General Construction Inc., Ya Li Precast Prestressed Concrete Industries Corporation, and other five companies have jointly built the "Far Eastern Construction Forest" of Tpark Zone 2 B residential complex, which has won the "TCI Concrete Engineering Excellence Award" for architectural excellence.

        The "New Taipei Far Eastern Group Communication Park Stereoscopic Parking Lot Project" jointly built by 7 units, including Far Eastern Resources Development, Ya Tung Ready Mixed Concrete Corporation, Far Eastern Group Construction, Far Eastern General Construction Inc., Ya Li Precast Pressed Concrete Industries Corporation, has won the "TCI Concrete Engineering Excellence Award" for architectural excellence.         U-Ming Marine Transport "Yuhe Lun" and "Yuhing Lun" have been put into operation.

        Far Eastern Big City Shopping Malls won two awards at the IIA International Innovation Award, namely "Service and Solutions" and "Enterprise and Culture"; Also awarded the "Multicultural Corporate Social Responsibility Customer Friendly Enterprise Award" by the Guest Council. (Figure 8)

        Far EasTone Telecommunications and Far Eastern Electronic Toll Collection won 25 awards in the "National Excellent Store Manager Recognition and Outstanding Store Manager Selection Competition".

        The "CSEA Outstanding Customer Service Award" was announced, and Far EasTone Telecommunications was awarded 5 major awards and 14 colleagues received individual awards; Yuanxin has won the "Best Customer Service Contracting Enterprise" award from GCCA (Greater China Customer Center Alliance) and TCCDA (Taiwan Contact Center Development Association).

        Far EasTone Telecommunications remote diagnosis and treatment service won the "National Innovation Award".

        Far EasTone Telecommunications and FE SOGO Department stores have respectively won the "Gold Medal" in the "Taiwan Customer Service Center Evaluation" category for chain telecommunications channels, department stores, and shopping centers.

        Far Eastern International Bank was awarded the "Social Innovation Product and Service Procurement Incentive Mechanism - Support Award" by the Small and Medium sized Enterprise Department of the Ministry of Economic Affairs, as well as the "Cross industry Cooperation Recommendation Award" by the "Trust Award" Multi trust Innovation Award, and the "Asia Annual Award - Best Financial Sustainability Development Strategy Award" by The Asset Asset.

        Far Eastern General Construction Inc. has won the "Gold Award for Public Works - Excellent Quality Award for Public Works - Civil Engineering" for the C714 Tanzi Interchange Project and the C711 Fengshi Interchange Project of the Fengyuan Tanzi Section of the National Highway 4 Taichung City Ring Road.

        Yuan Ze University and Far Eastern New Century Corporation signed a letter of intent for Collaboration between industry and school to establish the Enterprise Academy.

        Asia Eastern University of Science and Technology participated in the "Kaohsiung International Invention and Design Exhibition (KIDE)" and won one special award, as well as 8 gold, 4 silver, and 2 bronze awards.

                January 2023

        Far Eastern New Century Corporation was awarded the "Triple A Country Awards for Sustainable Finance - Best Issuer and Best Blue Loan in Taiwan" by The Asset Asset.

        The Italian Football Association (FIGC) has announced that all national team jerseys will use the "Ocean Recycling Explosive Resistant Shirts" produced by Far Eastern New Century Corporation.

        Oriental Petrochemical (Shanghai) Corporation was merged into Far Textile Industry (Shanghai) and established as the Petrochemical Division.

        Asia Cement Corporation cooperated with "Spore Capsule Cinema" to hold "Inspiring Life Film Exhibition" at five elementary schools in Xincheng and Xiulin Township, Hualien County.

        U-Ming Marine Transport held a naming ceremony for the 'Yuxin Ship'.

        Far Eastern Department Stores Zhubei store officially opened. (Figure 9)

        Far EasTone Telecommunications has established a joint venture with Qunstar Ruizhi, Thunderbolt International, and Hongda Digital to establish Mi Shen International.

        Far Eastern Electronic Toll Collection has won both the "Outstanding Contribution Award in Marketing Communication - Outstanding Brand of the Year" and the "Chinese Public Relations Award - Reputation Management Public Relations Award".

        Far Eastern Memorial Hospital was awarded the National Medical Quality Award by the Medical Policy Council.

        Yuan Ze University has established a sister school with Kiev State University in Ukraine, with the Far Eastern Memorial Foundation providing a teacher-student exchange fund.

        February 2023

        Far Eastern New Century Corporation was awarded the "Triple A Sustainable Capital Markets Awards - Best issuer and manufacturing industry sustainable development linked bond" by The Asset Asset magazine; Far Eastern International Bank also won the "Best Financial Sustainability Development Strategy Award".

        The Chemical Fiber Division of Far Eastern Textile Industry (Shanghai) has launched the industry's first fully automated packaging system, and the Petrochemical Division has reached the milestone of 10 million safe working hours for the first time.

        Yuanyuan Oriental Union Chemical Corporation (Yangzhou) won the first prize of "Excellent Unit in Safety Production Target Management" and "exemplary organization in Environmental Protection" in Yangzhou Chemical Industry Park.

        Ya Tung Ready Mixed Concrete Corporation has obtained three high-performance green building materials badges from the Taiwan Construction Center, a consortium entity, for its permeable concrete products.

        Jiangxi Yadong Cement and Ruichang Oriental Petrochemical (Taiwan) Wuhan Far Eastern New Material were awarded the "Outstanding Contribution Award" by Ruichang City.

        Jiangxi Yadong Cement signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Jiangxi Yachuang Renewable Resources to help create a waste free city. (Figure 10)

        Far Eastern International Bank Bankee Community Bank was awarded the 2022 Eye on Innovation in Financial Services winner by Gartner.

        Far Eastern Memorial Hospital has won the "Pharmaceutical Service Institution Award" in New Taipei City, as well as the "Excellent Implementation Award" and "Creative Award" from the Medical Policy Council, as well as the "Practice Achievement Award" from the Medical Shared Decision Making (SDM) Medical Institution Practice Movement.

        Yuan Ze University has established the "Chinese Language Center" and the "Indigenous Student Resource Center".

        March 2023

        Asia Cement Corporation Hualien Factory was awarded the "111 Annual Air Quality Purification Zone Adoption - Service Model Award" by the Environmental Protection Department of the Executive Yuan.

        Asia Cement Corporation (China) was ranked 10th on the "2022 China Cement Clinker Capacity Top 100 List".

        Hubei Yadong Cement won the "All Excellence Award" in the 2022 "Menofour Cup -18th National Cement Chemical Analysis Comparison".

        U-Ming Marine Transport held delivery ceremonies for "Yuyu Ship" and "Yuyi Ship" respectively. (Figure 11)

        Far EasTone Telecommunications TPKC Cloud Computing Center won the "Asia Pacific Excellent Smart Green Building and System Product Award - Platinum First Award in Design".

        Far Eastern International Bank was awarded the "Best Service Award", "Best Wealth Appreciation Award", and "Financial Service Innovation Award" at the Wealth Management Awards by Caixun Magazine.

        Far Eastern International Bank held a press conference on the "Leling Green Fashion Show" and the "Far Eastern International Bank Environmental New Uniform".

        Yuan Ze University has signed academic exchange and cooperation agreements with the University of Oklahoma City in the United States and the University of Minio in Portugal; Additionally, a dual departmental cooperation agreement was signed with the University of Essex in the UK.                 April 2023

        The FinanceAsia Asian Financial Journal has announced the "Best Enterprise in Asia". Far Eastern New Century Corporation has won 13 awards, including "Best Overall Enterprise" and "Best ESG Strategy". Far EasTone Telecommunications has also won 6 awards, including "Best Large Enterprise" and "Best Non circular Consumer Enterprise".

        Far Eastern New Century Corporation, Far EasTone Telecommunications, and Far Eastern International Bank were once again listed as the top 5% companies in the Taiwan Stock Exchange Corporation's Corporate Governance Review. (Figure 13)

        Yangzhou Yadong Cement was awarded the honorary medal of "2022 Occupational Health Archive Standardization Demonstration Unit" by the Yangzhou Supervision Institute, and was also awarded the honorary certificate of "Advanced Collective of Cement Branch" by the Jiangsu Building Materials Industry Association.

        U-Ming Marine Transport held a pick-up ceremony for the "Yuchao Ship".

        HAPPY GO collaborated with FE SOGO Department stores to organize the "HAPPY GO Mother Earth Day" event, advocating for sustainability through art and launching the "100000 to donate 100000" to the Family Assistance Foundation for vulnerable mothers.

        May 2023

        Far Eastern New Century Corporation, Far EasTone Telecommunications, Asia Cement Corporation, and FE SOGO Department stores have won 7 awards from Foresight and ESG Enterprise Sustainability Awards. (Figure 14)

        Jiangxi Yadong Cement has been listed as a green mine in Jiangxi Province for its "Dawuchen" cement shale ore and "Bao'anshan" cement clay ore.

        The U-Ming Marine Transport SWIFT system was awarded the "Triple A Treasury Awards - Best Payments and Collections Solution" by The Asset Asset.

        Jiangxi Yadong Cement Smart Mine Complex Building officially opened. (Figure 15)

        Yuan Ze University established the "Indigenous Student Resource Center".

        Ya Tung Ready Mixed Concrete Corporation has obtained ISO 14001, 50001, and 27001 certifications through third-party verification by the British Standards Institution (BSI).

        Asia Eastern University of Science and Technology won 16 awards at the International Invention Exhibition (ITEX) in Malaysia.

        The "Far Eastern Group Communication Digital Park TPKE Building" developed by Far Eastern Resources Development has been awarded a gold grade green building emblem by the Ministry of the Interior.

        June 2023

        The "Area Asia Responsible Entrepreneurship Awards" have been announced, with Asia Cement Corporation, FE SOGO Department stores, Far Eastern Department stores, and Far Eastern Big City Shopping Malls winning a total of 7 awards.

        Institutional Investor Magazine announced the best management team in Asia, and Far Eastern New Century Corporation was honored as the "Most Respected Company" and won six awards including "Best CEO" and "Best ESG".

        Far Eastern New Century Corporation has once again made its debut in the UEFA UEFA Champions League and FIFA Women's World Cup international sporting events, with players from 16 national teams wearing "2nd generation upgraded ocean recycled explosive resistant jerseys". (Figure 16)

        Yuanfang Industry (Shanghai) has been awarded the title of "Excellent Professional Supplier of China Industry Association" as a competitive enterprise in hygiene and maternal and infant products.

        Far Eastern Memorial Hospital has signed a MOU with Udayana University School of Medicine and affiliated hospitals in Bali.

        Far Eastern International Bank won the "National Brand E.SUN BANK Award" for its "Smart Xiaole" customer service.

        HAPPY GO collaborates with the global smart store opening platform SHOPLINE to provide platform services for intelligent member analysis and marketing.

        Jiangxi Yadong Cement donated RMB 640000 to Ruichang Port Oriental Petrochemical (Taiwan) Hope Primary School to assist in improving infrastructure.

        The Far Eastern Group Shangri La Hotel in Tainan has won the "Traveler's Choice Taiwan Best Hotel Award" from Tripadvisor, an international travel review website.

        The groundbreaking ceremony was held for the new construction project of the "Wugu Logistics Center" developed by Far Eastern Resources Development, which will be operated by Arcoa Communication and Far EasTone Telecommunications in the future.

        Far Eastern International Securities and Oriental Securities Corporation held a re commissioned business cooperation signing ceremony.

                July 2023

        Eight companies, including Far Eastern New Century Corporation, Asia Cement Corporation, U-Ming Marine Transport, Far EasTone Telecommunications, Far Eastern International Bank, FE SOGO Department stores, Far Eastern Big City Shopping Malls, and Far Eastern Polytex (Vietnam), swept 19 awards at the Asia Best Corporate Employer Awards.

        Far EasTone Telecommunications and city 'super have respectively won the "Gold Medal" for telecommunications channels and the "Gold Medal" for chain supermarkets in the "Taiwan Service Industry Review". FE SOGO Department stores have also won the "Silver Medal" for department store shopping centers.

        Eight institutions, including Asia Cement Corporation, Far EasTone Telecommunications, Far Eastern Department Stores, FE SOGO Department stores, Far Eastern Big City Shopping Malls, Everest Textile, Yuan Ze University, and Far Eastern Memorial Hospital, have won 15 awards at the TSAA Taiwan Sustainability Action Award.

        Asia Cement Corporation has obtained ISO 37001 Anti Bribery Management System Certification and ISO 45001 Occupational Safety and Health Management Certification.

        Far Eastern Department Stores held a "Thank you very much, sincere blessings" closing and light off event at the Baoqing store. We will bid farewell to everyone with a new look in the future. (Figure 17)

        Far Eastern Electronic Toll Collection signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Taipei City Investigation Office of the Investigation Bureau of the Ministry of Justice on the Cooperation between Information Security Joint Defense and Information Sharing.

        Yuan Ze University has been approved by the Ministry of Education to establish a Department of Nursing.

        HAPPY GO collaborates strategically with Easy Card to create a convenient Dianjin ecosystem. (Figure 18)

        HAPPY GO launched a sustainable education train tour project, with the first stop showcasing the large-scale installation art "Turtle Home, Home" made of plastic membership cards at A.Mart's Shuinan store, conveying the importance of reducing plastic.

        August 2023

        Oriental Securities Corporation and the Investigation Bureau of the Ministry of Justice, New Taipei City Investigation Office, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on Cooperation in Information Security Joint Defense and Information Sharing.

        Far Eastern International Bank has won the "Best Insurance Professional Award" and "Best Social Responsibility Award" in the "Insurance Trust Love Award" support group.

        The Kaohsiung and Banqiao branches of Oriental Securities Corporation have been newly renovated and opened. (Figure 19)

        The merger of Far EasTone Telecommunications with Asia Pacific Telecom has been approved by the National Communications Commission and the Fair Trade Commission, and a press conference has been held to announce the future new layout.
