Three days and two nights of Kanazawa's journey
Oriental Securities Corporation / Chen Wanyi
Kanazawa, located in central Japan, is described on the internet as a very elegant city and has always been known as the "Little Kyoto of Hokuriko". It is best suited to slow down, take a leisurely walk in it, and savor the rich Shimachi style
The attractions in Kanazawa are very concentrated, mostly within walking distance, so there is no need to waste too much time on transportation. Although there are no trams in the city and transportation relies entirely on buses, the indicators are clear and the routes are well planned. However, on the first day of arrival, I was still blinded by ghosts and foolishly followed the crowd. In the end, I ran to the wrong platform and got on the wrong bus, causing a delay of more than an hour in the original itinerary.
In order to avoid taking the wrong bus or going in the opposite direction, I first Google the distance to the destination and found that it was still within an acceptable range. Therefore, I made a quick decision to take the safest and most reliable bus, the 11th bus (walking). After all, when going out, time is money, and you can also enjoy the street view along the way by walking, and stop at any time when you see delicious and fun things. So, on the first day of hiking, I completed the scheduled itinerary from the 21st Century Art Museum - Ninja Temple (Myoritsu Temple) - Nagachi Takeyaya Ashikaga - Katamachi - Kagami Fong. Finally, I took the bus back to Kanazawa from Kagami Fong (almost taking the wrong direction, but fortunately I discovered it in time).
Due to the recent lack of snow, I was unable to enjoy the snow scenery and had to give up my itinerary for Kaneyuan and Kanazawa Castle. In addition, the swimming pool at the 21st Century Art Museum was temporarily closed due to the damage caused by the earthquake that could reach the peninsula. As a result, the originally planned itinerary suddenly missed three scenic spots. I have decided to take a brisk walk the next day to complete the market in Jinjiang Town and Dongchaya Street. On the third day, I will take the 7:30 am bus back to Nagoya early.
The next day, in order to avoid crowds, I arrived at the market in Jinjiang Town early in the morning. Although this is a popular attraction in Kanazawa, compared to Tokyo's Tsukiji Market, Kyoto's Kam Market, and Osaka's Kuroko Market, the crowds are still far apart, making it very pleasant to visit. Kanazawa is located in Ishikawa Prefecture, adjacent to the Sea of Japan, and has abundant seafood resources. Gourmets can enjoy it at a very affordable price. Unfortunately, I don't like seafood, especially raw food, so I can only go back to Baoshan empty handed. However, although I rarely go to the market and don't know much about prices, I still have a good impression after walking around. Although Taiwan is also surrounded by the sea, the price of seafood is expensive. I recommend seafood control to visit here, and you will definitely have a great time. After strolling through the market, I walked briskly to the opposite Black Gate Road and Mingtie Department Store. Unexpectedly, it was too easy to stroll here. I accidentally spent a whole day and had to arrange Tea House Street the next day. As expected, the plan couldn't keep up with the changes.
On the third day, I arrived at Dongchaya Street, which is a representative tourist attraction and the first of the three major chaya streets in Kanazawa. Japan's two major chaya streets, which are on par with Kyoto's only garden, were designated as national cultural treasures. However, due to the absence of tourist noise, they became even more tranquil and complemented the ancient and fragrant atmosphere. However, I don't know if it's because I came too early, there were too many shops on Tuesdays off, or I didn't do enough homework. Although there are many handicraft and local specialty shops, I couldn't find the dessert shops and cafes recommended online. In addition, I arrived in the morning this time and later saw netizens saying that the East Tea House Street, lit after sunset, is even more charming, which also provides an excuse for future visits.
It was already 1:30 pm when I returned to Kanazawa Station, and there were still over 5 hours left until the scheduled JR for the return trip. In order not to waste time, I decided to change my itinerary and return to Nagoya early.
Due to feeling a bit cramped and uncomfortable on the Nongfei bus last time, and the fact that it takes 3 hours from Kanazawa to Nagoya, the bus was not originally within my consideration. However, I didn't expect to have more luggage than expected this time. It would be extremely troublesome to just drag luggage to the station and then get on and off the platform. Moreover, the long-distance bus platform is less than a minute's walk from the APA restaurant where I stayed this time, and the JR Nagoya station is far away. Therefore, I immediately abandoned JR and changed to the bus.
I first went online to Google to study how to buy and collect tickets, and found that like Nongfei Bus, you can make an appointment online. After receiving the ticket voucher, you can show the driver the screen on your phone, without the need for a physical ticket. However, there is not much information about buses from Kanazawa to Nagoya on the internet, and some discussion forums are not sure if the information is correct. I am worried that if I don't catch the bus and cancel JR, I will have to queue up again to buy tickets. Moreover, although there are many trips from Kanazawa to Nagoya, there are few direct buses, and almost all of them need to be transferred. Therefore, I plan to cancel JR's ticket after getting on the bus.
After finishing the final round of shopping at the station, I returned to the hotel to claim my luggage and headed straight to the platform. I got on the bus and found that the Beijing Railway Bus was much more spacious than the Nongfei Bus, with fewer passengers. There were also empty seats next door, and the pillows on the chairs could move up and down to adjust to the appropriate height, making it even more comfortable to sit than on the plane. Even better, there was a tread plate in front of the seats, making it convenient for passengers to take off their shoes and put their feet down. For me, who needs to walk thousands of steps on my own every day, it was the most perfect choice!
