Far Eastern Memorial Hospital collaborates with Asia Eastern University of Science and Technology to cultivate nursing professionals

        Far Eastern Memorial Hospital held a celebration on the eve of International Nurses Day on May 12th, thanking the nursing staff for their dedication. Following the signing of the nursing public funded student training program with Yuan Ze University in March, Far Eastern Memorial Hospital collaborated with Asia Eastern University of Science and Technology to promote the nursing professional talent training program. Nearly 70 scholarships will be provided annually, with a total investment of NT $32.6 million to cultivate more nursing professionals. In addition to receiving rich scholarship subsidies from Far Eastern Memorial Hospital, nursing public funded students at Asia Eastern University of Science and Technology will also participate in internship programs to learn professional knowledge and practical skills in an advanced medical environment. After graduation, they will be given priority to join the Oriental Petrochemical (Taiwan) medical team.

        Vice President Lin Ziyu emphasized that in the face of the challenge of reduced labor and care manpower, the industry, government, and academia must work together to cultivate professional nursing professionals. Only through continuous education can we ensure the sound development of the medical care system; Far Eastern Memorial Hospital not only improves nursing workflow, but also promotes digital transformation, implementing smart healthcare and intelligent care in the clinical field, aiming to reduce the clinical workload of nurses and focus more on caring for patients. Yang Suzhen, a Section Chief of the Nursing Department who has served for over 40 years, also stated that this project represents Far Eastern Memorial Hospital in implementing the spirit of "Our Nurses. Our Future." advocated by the International Nursing Association (ICN) through action.

        Far Eastern Memorial Hospital has been collaborating with the Nursing Department of Asia Eastern University of Science and Technology for several years in areas such as student internships, academic exchanges, and industry academia research, and has cultivated many outstanding nursing professionals. This "Nursing Public Student Cultivation Program" will deepen mutual consensus and establish long-term goals. We look forward to bringing new impetus to nursing education and clinical practice in Taiwan through Collaboration between Industry and School, and contributing to the health of the people.
