The fourth "Taroko Mountain Market" successfully concluded on August 16-17 at the Qixingtan Star Appreciation Square in Hualien. The event gathered over 30 specialty stalls, covering rattan weaving techniques, traditional textiles, handmade accessories, authentic cuisine, and local agricultural products. It also arranged Taroko ethnic song and dance performances, traditional instrument performances, and cultural experiences, presenting the diverse style of indigenous culture in the magnificent mountains and seas.Since its establishment in 2022, Taroko Mountain Market has gradually expanded its scale and influence by starting from Hualien, entering large department stores in northern Taiwan, and returning to its tribal homeland. In the initial stage, Asia Cement Corporation provided resources and professional assistance to lead the Boshiman tribe in accumulating experience in market operation, brand marketing, and tourism promotion. They also provided support in venue design, transportation, and logistics to alleviate the pressure on the tribe to handle their own activities.
This year, Asia Cement Corporation and the Boshiman Tribe Conference adopted a cooperation model of "tribe led, enterprise fully supported", allowing tribes to independently plan and execute activities, showcasing the results of years of training. Asia Cement Corporation pointed out that this model not only promotes the economic cycle of tribes and the continuation of local culture, but also responds to the company's long-term commitment to cultivating Hualien and upholding the concept of "working together with the local community". Asia Cement Corporation regards the Boshiman tribe as an important partner and incorporates local characteristic industries, cultural sustainability, and community development into its ESG strategy. In the future, it will continue to invest resources and build cooperation platforms to jointly promote cultural heritage and local development with the tribe, allowing the fruits of creation to continue and spread.
The Boshian tribe meeting emphasized that the market has become an important platform for the tribe to showcase themselves and engage in cultural exchange. Being able to independently organize and successfully complete this year symbolizes significant progress in event planning and brand management for the tribe, and is also a new milestone in promoting local innovation.
With the successful conclusion of the market, the cultural story belonging to Taroko will continue and deepen in the process of local creation. It is expected to attract more people to Hualien in the future, drive tourism and tribal economy, and inject new momentum into cultural sustainability.
