Far EasTone Telecommunication received the highest honor of "Leadership A-level" in CDP climate change assessment

 The international environmental non-profit organization CDP (Carbon Disclosure Project) has released the results of its 2025 climate change assessment. Far EasTone Telecommunication received the highest A-level rating for 75% of the questions, standing out from over 20000 companies worldwide and receiving the highest level of "Leadership A-level" recognition, demonstrating outstanding achievements in carbon reduction strategies, governance, and implementation.CDP has been promoting transparent disclosure of environmental and climate information by enterprises for many years. The annual evaluation is one of the important indicators to measure the sustainable performance of enterprises in the environment, and only about 2% of enterprises worldwide can obtain the highest level of A-level evaluation. This evaluation covers 16 major question groups, and Far EasTone Telecommunication has received the highest A-level rating in 12 key areas, including environmental policy, climate governance, public policy participation and industry cooperation, emission reduction measures and low-carbon products, climate opportunity disclosure, category one and category two emissions, carbon inventory verification, carbon reduction targets, and environmental external cost pricing.
Far EasTone Telecommunications is the first telecommunications operator in Taiwan to pass the SBTi 1.5 ℃ short-range target audit, and quickly re passed the SBTi 1.5 ° C net zero scenario audit after the "Far East Asia merger", implementing low-carbon operations and demonstrating its ability to reduce carbon emissions through technology. The overall greenhouse gas emissions are expected to decrease by more than 24.5% compared to 2021, with the goal of achieving comprehensive net zero by 2048.
In order to turn ESG net zero transformation into a collective action, Far EasTone Telecommunication has specially linked "environmental and climate sustainability KPIs" such as "green electricity proportion", "departmental energy saving rate", "greenhouse gas emissions", and "recycled economy recycling ratio" to the salaries and bonuses of the President and senior managers, and provided sustainable incentive bonuses for all colleagues, making ESG a measurable and implementable specific indicator, and creating an ESG culture of full participation.
In addition, Far EasTone Telecommunication has incorporated sustainability standards into its procurement process and conducts systematic carbon inventory checks on its supply chain every year. The results are announced in a third-party certified "Supply Chain Sustainability Report". The carbon emissions performance of the supply chain has also been verified by accountants and has decreased by more than 5% for two consecutive years, demonstrating information transparency and carbon reduction determination. Far EasTone Telecommunications has been awarded the highest honor of Level A leadership in Supplier Engagement by CDP Climate Change for five consecutive years, demonstrating its leadership in supply chain governance and carbon reduction collaboration as the only Taiwanese telecommunications operator to achieve this feat.
In addition to receiving high recognition from CDP, Far EasTone Telecommunication has achieved excellent results for two consecutive years, ranking first in the global telecommunications industry rating and being listed in DJSI World. It has also received the highest scores in the global telecommunications industry in areas such as "Environmental Policy and Management," "Waste and Pollutant Management," "Water Resource Management," "Biodiversity," and "Supply Chain Management," demonstrating a world-class sustainable enterprise pattern.
