The international authoritative environmental information disclosure organization CDP (Carbon Disclosure Project) has released the results of its 2025 climate change assessment. Asia Cement Corporation has upgraded its "climate change" project from an A - in 2024 to the highest level of A -, and has also received an A - leadership rating in the field of "water security". This demonstrates that Asia Cement Corporation's governance achievements on multiple environmental issues are in line with international standards and respond steadily to global sustainability challenges. The CDP evaluation covers information disclosure aspects such as climate governance architecture, risk management, strategic goals, and action indicators for enterprises. According to CDP's public information, there will be 22100 companies participating in the evaluation worldwide by 2025, and only the top 4% of companies will receive an A-level rating. Asia Cement Corporation has achieved 13 leadership level evaluations in 16 indicators related to climate change, and 7 leadership level evaluations in 11 indicators related to water security. In terms of transparency in climate governance information, maturity in environmental governance, and transformational actions, it has reached a leading global level.
In terms of climate governance, Asia Cement Corporation follows the international Task Force on Climate related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) framework, discloses a complete climate transition plan, and systematically integrates climate risk identification, response strategies, and action plans into the overall business strategy. At the same time, carbon reduction targets and progress are included in the board level monitoring mechanism to ensure continuous review and promotion. In addition, the company has made a clear commitment not to fund activities that deny climate change, nor to engage in lobbying activities against climate regulations. The relevant policy stance is consistent with the Paris Agreement, and the governance mechanism will drive a long-term and measurable transformation path.
In terms of climate goals and action disclosure, Asia Cement Corporation has established a clear quantitative path and verified the SBTi 1.5 ° C short-range carbon reduction target by 2025 as an important basis for moving towards net zero emissions by 2050. At the same time, Asia Cement Corporation further revealed the usage of alternative raw materials, specifically demonstrating the substantial performance of cement kiln co processing waste in reducing process carbon emissions and improving resource efficiency, and implementing the spirit of recycled economy.
CDP officials pointed out that through the disclosure of environmental information, companies can integrate climate related data into their business models and decision-making processes, thereby strengthening operational resilience and long-term competitiveness, and promoting the protection of the natural environment. Based on this concept, Asia Cement Corporation has actively participated in CDP evaluations since 2016, and regards the annual evaluation results as an important basis for examining the company's operations and risk management, and developing improvement plans for various risk gaps. In the era of carbon value, Asia Cement Corporation will continue to lay a long-term foundation for environmental sustainability through transparent disclosure and concrete transformation actions.
