SOGO Department Store implements corporate social responsibility and strives to build the first green department store in Asia. In its daily operation, it practices "sustainable environment". After the solar photovoltaic power generation system on the top floor of Tianmu store, the second solar power generation system has been built on the top floor of Hsinchu store. Both the area and the power generation capacity are greatly increased. In the trend of concept of sustainability and green energy, about 30% of the SOGO stores can generate green electricity.
In the process of building the first green department store in Asia, SOGO plans step by step to set short, medium and long-term goals in a systematic way through the three key points of green marketing, low-carbon education and energy and resources integration. In recent years, not only the public power consumption is decreasing year by year, but also the revenue created by each power consumption is growing year by year. In 2019, SOGO won recognition at home and abroad, such as the Green Leadership of Asia Corporate Social Responsibility Award, Benchmark of Energy Saving Award by the Ministry of Economy, the National Enterprise Environmental Protection Award and other environmental protection awards.
Hsinchu SOGO solar power generation system, which was completed and put into operation at the end of last year, has experienced more than one year's planning and construction. With the assistance of affiliated enterprise - Xutian energy, it has set up a solar panel area of 2300 square meters with the capacity of 409.5KWp, an annual power generation capacity of 500000 kW, and a construction cost of 20.3 million yuan. The solar power will not only supply part of the electricity in the market, but also sell to TPC. In the future, if there are other suitable stores, SOGO will continue to add solar energy system to make contributions to the environment.
