        On October 29, Yuan Ze University invited former Vice President Chen Jianren to give a speech on "the new world after the epidemic: achievements and challenges in the prevention and control of emerging infectious diseases in Taiwan".

        Former Vice President Chen Jianren said that infectious diseases are borderless. Infectious diseases treat everyone equally. Epidemic prevention is a global action. No country can prevent epidemics alone, nor can any country be regarded as an orphan of epidemic prevention. Otherwise, there will be loopholes in the global epidemic prevention network. Epidemic prevention is like disaster prevention. Isolation, indifference and estrangement are the biggest challenges of global epidemic prevention.
