FET and MediaTek.Inc 's strategic cooperation to build 5G millimeter wave vertical field

        Far EasTone Telecommunication and MediaTek.Inc announced on February 3 that the two sides would develop a vertical field for 5G mmWave interconnection and mutual testing in the communication chip R & D headquarter of MediaTek.Inc, and speed up and improve the research and development phase of MediaTek.Inc with the superior 5G communication strength of FET, and introduced it into the global market with MediaTek.Inc’s 5G mmWave chip. The first 5G mmWave chip M80 has been released recently, and is actively competing for the market with advanced technology.

        5G mmWave can meet the needs of enterprises for high speed and low latency. FET and MediaTek.Inc build 5G mmWave vertical field with Ericsson in 28GHz frequency band. By controlling the standardization process and fine-tuning of various parameters, it can effectively accelerate the test and verification of 5G mmWave chip on the real network, which is not only helpful for the upstream and downstream integration of domestic 5G mobile phone, equipment manufacturers and application developers, but also can shorten the time cost of interconnection compatibility test for terminal equipment manufacturers and accelerate the product development cycle.

        FET has been working with MediaTek.Inc since 2019, taking the lead in investing in the 5G commercial production lines. The 3.5GHz 5G base station was built in the production lines of the IC sealed test factory of MediaTek.Inc - King Yuan Electronics Co, SiliconGo Microelectronics, Inc and ASE Technology Holding Co., Ltd. , which effectively improves the detection efficiency and quality control of communication chips, and promotes the mass production of 5G chips, which provides Taiwan with the first opportunity to enter the global 5G communication market.
