FET was invited to participate in the Department of Transport's "smart transportation field experimental research project for Tanhai town". Zeng Shiyuan, Executive Vice President of FET, also attended the Department of Transport's "5G pilot smart city" press conference on December 17.
Zeng Shiyuan, Executive Vice President, said that 5G’s three major features, high bandwidth, low latency and large-scale Internet of things (IOT), in combination with edge computing and machine learning, can drive more mature Internet of vehicles and autonomous vehicle applications; FET is honored to become the 5G innovative applications partner of Department of Transport, New Taipei and HwaCom Systems Inc. to provide the 5G environment required by the roadside / sensing equipment, intelligent signal control, traffic information operation and other system architectures, and work together to build the 5G intelligent transportation experimental field.
Zeng Shiyuan, Executive Vice President, then pointed out that FET has been invested in the field of Internet of vehicles for a long time, from the early taxi management to the recent bike sharing, locomotive sharing, car sharing, etc., which not only provides good communication network, but also has profound technical strength. Through Internet of things (IOT) and the Internet of things (IOT) SIM management platform developed by FET, it has extensible and programmable rule flexibility, and its API can connect customer management system more effectively, which is favored by domestic well-known vehicle service leading brands.
In fact, FET has joined 5GAA since 2018 and developed Internet of vehicles with upstream and downstream manufacturers. At present, 5G autonomous bus has also been tested on Xinyi Road in Taipei city. In the future, the c-v2x self-driving intersection assistant system will be introduced. Through the c-v2x application, it can immediately warn pedestrians or vehicles of dangerous behaviors such as invading lanes and running red lights, and send signals to autonomous bus, so that vehicles can make safe driving response. In the future, FET will continue to invest in the research and development of Internet of vehicles, drive the development of Internet of vehicles industry in Taiwan, join hands with the government to build a smart city for sustainability development, and accelerate the popularization of 5G innovative applications.
