Far EasTone Telecommunication Joins Hands with Intel to Establish 5G Sister Laboratory

        On November 2, Far EasTone Telecommunications, represented by Chee Ching President, signed a "5G sister laboratory memorandum" with Intel. The two sides will cooperate to establish a 5G sister laboratory, focusing on "5G ORAN", "AI visual computing" and "vertical field technology research". Through technical exchanges and resource sharing, they will work together to promote the development of forward-looking technologies and hope to become the best digital partner for consumers and corporate customers, Accelerate Taiwan's industrial innovation and upgrading.

                During the signing ceremony, Far EasTone Telecommunications Chee Ching President, Guo Junjie, acting vice president of Internet and Technology Group, Wang Jiahui, vice president of Intel's business marketing and public relations group, and Dan Rodriguez, vice president of the enterprise and president of Internet and Edge Solutions Division, attended the ceremony. With the world-class 5G high-quality network of Far EasTone Telecommunications, rich experience in vertical field integration, and in combination with Intel's leading global smart network technology and computer smart vision model, it will meet the huge demand for new technologies and application scenarios in an all-round way to create industrial value.

        The two sides have started to integrate resources. In terms of "5G ORAN", they will develop a direct connection plan for the experimental network to share testing system, software and hardware resources; Far EasTone Telecommunication 5G Lab will introduce Intel ® Smart Edge Open software environment for open network concept verification. In terms of "AI visual computing", Far EasTone Telecommunications has taken the lead in joining the Early Access Program of Intel's computer vision platform, and has more widely and efficiently applied AI visual analysis technology to multiple scenarios such as smart cities and smart transportation. In terms of "vertical field technology research", the two sides focus on multiple vertical fields such as smart medicine, smart manufacturing, and industrial 4.0, and introduce the latest technology into more practical fields.

        In addition to deepening exchanges and sharing resources in network technology, computer vision, and edge computing, Far EasTone Telecommunications has become the first company in the whole station to try out Intel's latest Intel ® Geti ™ Computer Vision Model Training Platform.
