        Far Eastern Memorial Hospital launched a cooperation ceremony with Mercy Hospital on February 17. In the future, in addition to supporting general surgery, it will also arrange three specialties, including cardiac surgery, ophthalmology and orthopedics, with a total of six doctors to provide services to the friend hospital, hoping to integrate the medical center and regional medical resources to provide the best quality medical care for the local people.

        The Hukou area of Hsinchu County, where the Mercy Hospital is located, is short of emergency and critical resources. In the past, if people had surgical needs, they should go to the hospital in Hsinchu City or Taoyuan City for medical treatment. Since 2020, Mercy Hospital has purchased a high-level surgical endoscope system, and Dr. Li Yongfan of Far Eastern Memorial Hospital has been supporting the general surgery business at all times, so that the local people can be treated nearby; In the past three years, Dr. Li Yongfan has performed laparoscopic surgery for gastrointestinal tract, appendicitis, hernia and other diseases, and also treated various diseases such as burns and scalds, pressure sores, wound infections, and more than 10000 people.

        Dr. Li said that since most of the people who come to see the doctor are 80 to 90 years old patients, they need to pay more patience and love when seeing the doctor and treating them. They are very happy to reduce the fatigue of the young elders going out to see the doctor and reduce their physiological and economic burden.
