One day, I received a text message informing me that my international package has arrived at customs and requesting payment of the customs clearance fee of NTD60 before September 6th. The website is chunghwafk.com, and the content also states that if the website cannot be accessed, the website can be manually entered.
Just as I was about to enter the website for payment, I suddenly remembered that I should verify the information first. So I called the "165 Anti Fraud Consultation Line" and contacted the logistics company to confirm if this fee exists. The other party replied to me that this is a fraudulent message.
This experience has made me understand that before receiving any text message notification, one should first contact the relevant department for verification. If one clicks on the link recklessly, it may lead to personal information and credit card information being stolen. Due to the involvement of accounting, people are easily in a state of panic and disclose personal information to fraudulent groups. Once I received an unfamiliar phone call informing me that my credit card had been hacked. I had to go to the ATM as soon as possible to cancel the settings and provide my ID number for verification. Fortunately, I didn't own a car and immediately knew it was a scam message.
