In response to Far Eastern Polytex (Vietnam) Fire Day, a fire competition will be held in Vietnam
Far Eastern Polytex (Vietnam) / Safety and Environment Department
In response to Vietnam's Fire Day on October 4th, Far Eastern Polytex (Vietnam) held its first fire competition since its establishment to improve and enhance its colleagues' emergency response capabilities to fire incidents. This article shares with you the planning and execution methods of this event.
The plan for the first Far Eastern Polytex (Vietnam) fire competition is as follows:
1. Fire Protection Knowledge College: On October 3rd, a fire protection knowledge test will be held for in-service employees in various factories to test their understanding and familiarity with the local fire protection laws and regulations in Vietnam, as well as the relevant content of the 136/2020/ND-CP protocol.
2. Activity competition
First level: Jumping obstacles
There are inevitably many obstacles at the scene of a fire, and firefighters must overcome them carefully and move forward. Therefore, three hurdles are specially set up, requiring participants to quickly jump over the obstacles during the journey and strive for timely rescue.
Second level: Firefighting skills
There are various causes of fires, including kitchen (oil) fires, electrical fires, combustible fires, chemical fires, etc. This level allows you to practice wet cloth covering (one of the kitchen fire extinguishing techniques) and operating fire extinguishers.
Third level: Moving the injured
If personnel are injured at the scene of a fire, it is necessary to transport the injured and leave the fire as soon as possible. This level mainly trains colleagues in rescue ability and speed.
Fourth level: Fire water line extinguishing
This is the final technique of firefighting and rescue, using a large amount of water to extinguish the fire. But it's not aimlessly spraying water, but rescuing the ignition point, so firefighters must risk their lives to enter the scene and search for the ignition point. This level mainly tests the proficiency of personnel in using waterline fire extinguishing.
 3. Comprehensive emergency drill: The preset scenario is a large fire in the locomotive parking lot (taking advantage of the Hanoi fire accident in Vietnam, where the scene is filled with gasoline and combustibles). In the situation where the factory's firefighters are unable to extinguish the fire, they quickly seek support from the professional fire brigade in the industrial area, and a total of two firefighting vehicles and 18 firefighters are dispatched.
This fire competition is not only a competition, but also aims to cultivate the fire safety awareness and disaster relief skills of colleagues. Through arduous training, each participating team has also improved their fire safety skills and gained a better understanding of the importance of emergency fire accident response. In the future, the company will continue to improve workplace safety through similar activities.
