Yuan Ze University collaborates with Far Eastern Memorial Hospital and Landseed International Hospital to cultivate smart caregivers

        With the increasing demand for long-term care in elderly society, the threat of emerging infectious diseases, and the increasing number of disabled individuals, nursing manpower is facing great challenges. The Nursing Department of Yuan Ze University will enroll 45 students starting from the 113 academic year. In the first year, they will cultivate smart cloud technology, international mobility, and nursing majors, and arrange nursing internships at the Oriental Petrochemical (Taiwan) Medical Center. In response to the World Nursing Organization's initiative to "invest in nursing," they will collaborate with Far Eastern Memorial Hospital and Landseed International Hospital to sign a "Memorandum of Understanding on Education Cooperation" and a "Nursing Public Funding Program" on March 12. They hope to combine their academic and clinical experience to jointly cultivate talents in the field of smart nursing care and create a win-win opportunity.

        President Liao Qingrong of Yuan Ze University stated that Far Eastern Memorial Hospital and Landseed International Hospital are two major teaching alliance hospitals of the nursing department of Yuan Ze University, providing clinical and community medical training for graduates from major medical departments across Taiwan, and making every effort to cultivate nursing professionals. Adhering to the self positioning of "Sustainability Development and International Leading Intelligent Nursing", the Nursing Department of Yuan Ze University will combine cross departmental faculty and industry professionals in engineering, information, and management to jointly establish the "Smart Bilingual Innovation and Entrepreneurship Nursing Program", cultivating intelligent nursing and international medical nursing professionals with programming language, English proficiency, international mobility, and innovative and entrepreneurial spirit.

                Lin Ziyu, Vice Dean of Medical Affairs at Far Eastern Memorial Hospital, pointed out that the hospital has a long history of collaborating with Yuan Ze University to plan and build teaching programs. This time, the "Oriental Petrochemical (Taiwan) Nursing Public funded Student Cultivation Program" contract has been signed, expanding the scope of cooperation to medical staff cultivation. In the 113 academic year, 18 spots will be provided, and each person will receive a NTD 120000 scholarship per academic year; After graduating and obtaining a certificate, subsidized students can directly enter Far Eastern Memorial Hospital services. This not only addresses the shortage of manpower, but also hopes to sow the seeds of the future era of smart nursing, accelerating the hospital's intelligent process with a new generation of thinking.

        On the other hand, Landseed International Hospital and Yuan Ze University Department of Nursing have signed a "Joint New Nursing Public Subsidy Student Cultivation" agreement, with a quota of 10 nursing public funded students in the 113 academic year. NTD will be subsidized 60000 per semester in the first and second years, 80000 NTD per semester in the third year, and 90000 NTD per semester in the fourth year; In addition, if the student obtains relevant certificates, skill tests, or other outstanding performances recognized by Party A during the semester that contribute to the development and improvement of nursing professional abilities, a maximum subsidy of NTD 20000 will be provided, and a maximum subsidy of NTD 600000 will be provided for 4 years. The recruitment and training quotas for public funded nursing students in each academic year will be discussed and adjusted by both parties. Students are encouraged to obtain a nursing teacher's license upon graduation to ensure employment at Landseed International Hospital.

        Yuan Ze University's Su Yinghua Section Chief stated that the nursing department has recruited a total of 45 first-year students this year. In line with the needs of course internships, senior students will teach nursing clinical practical skills and establish a solid foundation for their career development. In addition to the NTD 35000 supplementary tuition and miscellaneous fees provided by the Ministry of Education every academic year, nursing students who meet the hospital's academic performance threshold can also apply for generous financial aid provided by the hospital every year to help students focus on their studies and reduce their financial burden.
