Far EasTone Telecommunication, Far Eastern Memorial Hospital, Yuan Ze University promote smart healthcare

        The first "Elderly Health Industry Expo" was held on August 2nd, with Far EasTone Telecommunications and Far Eastern Memorial Hospital exhibiting under the themes of "Smart Health, Super Evolution, Elderly Care, Good Peace of Mind" and "Youth, Strengthening Foundation, Enjoying Age", respectively. Unlike pursuing 5G "killer applications", Far EasTone Telecommunication will invest its research and development energy in 5G "life-saving applications", combining 5G networks with advanced software development and cloud technology to independently develop a 5G remote diagnosis and treatment platform. At the same time, with the implementation of the new communication diagnosis and treatment method in July, ten types of patients who meet the qualifications for communication diagnosis and treatment, including acute late stage, chronic diseases, and mobility impaired care, can now receive video consultations through the Far EaseTone Telecommunication "Health+" app, improving the accessibility of medical treatment for the public. This app can connect various physiological measurement devices such as blood sugar, blood pressure, sleep, weight, etc., automatically upload health data, facilitate the management of health status for elderly people and caregivers, and enable doctors to remotely monitor the health data and care situation of the public. Far Eastern Memorial Hospital showcases smart applications and plans screening experiences, health education consulting services, and physician lectures, providing health care suitable for all ages. This includes collaborating with Asia Eastern University of Science and Technology to launch a "remote rehabilitation management platform," partnering with Far EaseTone Telecommunications to introduce Microsoft Azure OpenAI technology, using health education data from dementia centers to train AI models, and building a "dementia OpenAI artificial intelligence station," allowing the public to bring back a wealth of health information at once.

        In response to the trend of smart healthcare, Far EasTone Telecommunication has teamed up with Shin Kong Hospital to plan a blueprint for a sustainable smart hospital with "digital transformation and sustainable operation" as the main axis. Through the transposition of core information systems, it lays the foundation for digitization and brings benefits of paperless energy conservation and carbon reduction. At the same time, it will build a green computer room in three stages, creating nearly 100000 kWh of electricity savings per year. The practice of ESG operation has also been recognized by the Medical Quality Award.

        In the era of AI, it is crucial to cultivate intelligent nursing talents with interdisciplinary thinking and collaborative abilities. The Nursing Department of Yuan Ze University, in conjunction with the Teaching and Nursing Departments of Far Eastern Memorial Hospital, organized the "Smart Health Care Exploration Camp" to lead high school students in exploring the evolution and future development direction of smart hospitals, understanding how to apply the latest technologies such as VR and AI assisted diagnostic systems to medical environments and health care, and training personnel's clinical decision-making ability and professional skills through simulation exercises.
