Mobile exclusive medical butler, calmly prepare for hospitalization In the past, when patients were hospitalized, they often needed to go to the hospital in advance to fill out a large number of paper documents. Nowadays, Far Eastern Memorial Hospital has integrated the complex pre hospitalization process into the most familiar LINE platform for the public, allowing patients to complete various hospitalization preparation tasks at home through their mobile phones. Innovative and thoughtful service significantly reduces pre hospitalization paper-based workload by 80%, saving up to approximately 131000 sheets of paper annually. It also allows patients and their families to focus on treatment and recuperation with peace of mind upon arrival at the hospital.
AI voice becomes a nursing god teammate, returning time to patients
In the ward, nurses often need to spend a lot of time typing on the keyboard to complete nursing records. To reduce the workload of frontline personnel, Far Eastern Memorial Hospital has partnered with Industrial Technology Research Institute to introduce a medical specific AI speech to text system, with a recognition accuracy of over 90%. The nursing handover record, which originally required 30 minutes, can now be completed in just 3 minutes, increasing efficiency by 10 times. This can save clinical staff 7309 hours of work time per year, allowing nurses to have more energy to accompany and care for patients.
15 second precise warning, guarding life
Patient safety is the highest principle of the hospital, and Far Eastern Memorial Hospital has established a powerful "Early Warning System (EWS)" in the ward. After the patient's physiological data is input into the system, the risk score can be automatically completed within 15 seconds. Once the system detects abnormal values twice in a row, it will automatically broadcast alerts to the medical team through the LINE robot in real-time. This invisible life safety net successfully supports 500 to 700 rapid response teams (RRTs) for immediate intervention and rescue every month, safeguarding the safety of patients during prime time.
Dr. Chiu, Dean Kuanming, stated that the value of medical technology lies in its ability to improve the medical experience and work environment. The goal of digital transformation is to make the medical process smoother, allow medical staff to have more time to return to patients, and provide warm care when patients need it the most. Far Eastern Memorial Hospital will continue to deepen the application of AI and smart healthcare, using technology to safeguard public health and showcase Taiwan's innovation and strength in healthcare to the world.
