Far Eastern Talks: My Healing Time
Far Eastern Magazine / Editorial Room

Some moments may not disturb the world, but they can quietly repair the cracks in one's mood. In this issue, Far Easterner from home and abroad is specially invited to share these gentle daily landscapes. Let's practice together and see beauty from the brief pauses.

More than six years ago, a video of cycling around the island constantly stirred up my longing, so one day, I also gathered my courage and tried to ride up Wuling. Until now, whenever I encounter a bottleneck in my work, I always immerse myself in nature, feeling the blue sea and sky of eastern Taiwan, the tranquility and peace of Nantou mountains, and the warm sunset in the western part of the island... After completely emptying my worries, I return home with full power. (Far Eastern Department Stores/Xiaomi)

We agreed not to keep pets anymore, but the children still adopted three kittens one after another. The eldest indigenous person, who is eight years old, always rushes to the door when I arrive home from work, enthusiastically glancing and shouting, making people instantly forget the exhaustion of the day. I will put down my bag, take it for a walk in the courtyard, talk to it, listen to the chirping of insects and birds, and look at its eyes that sometimes widen and sometimes squint, enjoying it endlessly! The second little white is a folding eared cat, six years old. Because my child's friend is allergic to cat fur, we have fostered the cat at my house. It has a gentle personality and is very coquettish. Although the indigenous people do not like it and often repair it, it is also well recognized and always lies quietly in the imperial chair. The third child is a pet cat, timid and delicate. He was once bitten on the tail by a little white, so he was placed alone upstairs and only came out to exercise after the child finished work. Being with furry children is very healing. Although cleaning and tidying up can be a sweet burden, it's also fun to comb their fur and roll it into balls! (Far Eastern New Century Corporation/Happy)

Since I started raising children, my world seems to be reduced to feeding, changing diapers, and soothing sleep, and my once inseparable friends are gradually fading out of life. Fortunately, recently my mother-in-law has been willing to help me take care of the children at night, giving me a short "off work" time to relax on the sofa, watch TV shows, drink drinks, and eat cookies. Every bite feels like celebrating freedom, allowing me to smile again the next day and face the "little boss" who wakes me up at 5am. Far Eastern City Super JJ
