酒足飯飽？別忘了給小費

「聚餐」是朋友間聯繫感情、商務人士洽談生意的重要媒介，但是中西文化大不同，尤其在美國餐廳有獨特的小費禮儀。本期「英文小教室」為您示範如何請服務生結帳？小費怎麼計算？只要牢記以下重點，您一定能得體應對。
Vocabulary （詞彙）
1. healthy eater – a person who eats nutritious foods（健康飲食者—重視養生、堅持飲食營養的人）
2. check, please – an informal way to ask for the bill at a restaurant（麻煩結帳—在餐廳結帳時，一種非正式的詢問方式）
Sample Dialogue（情境範例）
David：That was a great meal. I didn’t know that vegetarian restaurants in the USA are as good as this.（餐點真好吃，我之前不知道美國當地的素食餐廳這麼棒。）
William：Many Americans are actually healthy eaters. I think we should pay the bill now, so we won’t be late for the movie.（其實許多美國人都很重視養生。我們該結帳了，以免趕不上看電影。）
David：Alright.（calls the waiter）Check please!（好的。（呼叫服務生） 麻煩結帳！）
Waiter gives the bill…（服務生交付帳單）
William：Thank you. Ok, our bill is $37.（謝謝你。嗯，我們今天消費USD37。）
David：Ok. What is 15% of $37? （Taps cellphone calculator）Ah. $5.55.（好的。USD37的15%是多少？（按手機計算機）喔！是USD5.55的小費。）
William：Let’s just leave the waiter $6 in cash. He was very nice to us and gave us excellent service.（我們留USD6的現金給那位服務生吧，他不僅態度好，服務也很周到。）
David: Ok, sure. You know I always need to remind myself to always tip in restaurants.（當然沒問題。你知道嗎？我每次都會提醒自己，在餐廳用餐要給小費。）
