Far Eastern International Bank was awarded the President Prize by Toastmasters International

 Far Eastern International Bank was awarded the Corporate Recognition Award by Toastmasters International on April 24. It is the only award-winning enterprise in Taiwan, President Thomas Chou received the award as the representative. The award ceremony was held at Far Eastern Plaza Hotel, Taipei. Lark Doley, President of Toastmasters International, personally came to Taiwan to praise Far Eastern International Bank's efforts to improve the English language skills of its employees.
In order to enhance the national English ability and increase the international competitiveness, the Executive Yuan put forward the "2030 Bilingual National Policy Development Blueprint", aiming at 2030 to build Taiwan into a bilingual country. Far Eastern International Bank attaches great importance and requires employees to improve their English proficiency. It has offered free online English courses and signed contracts with many well-known external professional learning institutions to provide preferential learning channels for its employees. It has also set English certification standards for career development, which are included in one of the criteria for performance appraisal and promotion assessment.
Far Eastern International Bank joined Toastmasters International of the Republic of China in 2010 which has been operated for more than eight years. It ranks first among the domestic enterprises except the other 3 branches. It also provides full subsidies, supplemented by certification awards and competition bonuses, to encourage employees to register for regional competitions and accept challenges. The employees of Far Eastern International Bank also seized the opportunity to learn. In 2018, a total of 1,356 people attended the competition, with nearly 7,000 attendees over the years, and more than 250 regular meetings were held.
The Toastmasters International of the Republic of China, a non-profit educational organization, founded in 1924 in the United States, assists its members to improve their oral and leadership skills in various languages through systematic training and frequent regular meetings. Its branches are located in 143 countries worldwide, and more than half of the Fortune 500 corporations in the world has the branches. The association has been established as the branch in Taiwan for half a century with Toastmasters International as its main body. At present, there are 211 branches with more than 6,000 members, including college students, business owners and office workers. Among them, there are 29 branches with corporate sponsorship.
President Chou said Far Eastern International Bank is committed to creating a development-oriented workplace where colleagues can grow with the company and they can achieve self-realization. Far Eastern International Bank has been subsidized by the Ministry of Labor for 16 consecutive years through the government's review of the subsidy for the enterprise's human resources promotion plan every year for its achievement in staff training. It has set a record in financial industry. The total amount of the subsidy amounts to NT$8.4 million. With a highly competitive salary structure, Far Eastern International Bank has been awarded the "Taiwan High Salary 100 Index" and "Taiwan Employment 99 Index" constituent stock every year.
