In response to the advent of AI, following the first bilingual University in China, since the 106 academic year, the programming language course has been listed as a compulsory general education credits. In order to meet the needs of a large number of talents in the AI era, taking the Dep. Computer Science and Engineering as an example, Yuan Ze University has designed a series of AI cross-domain courses, including three core courses (artificial intelligence, data science and machine learning), three advanced courses (in-depth learning, Big Data analysis and data visualization), and four applied courses (intelligent manufacturing, community analysis, Financial Science and Technology and Precise Medical Care).. In addition, taking the Dep. Computer Science and Engineering as an example, machine learning, in-depth learning, natural language processing and other departments, courses have been added to meet the needs of the times. In the future, the talents of the Dep. Computer Science and Engineering of Yuan Ze University will also be expected to play a major role in industry 4.0, media marketing, public policy, digital finance, and medical services.
Yuan Ze University is currently focusing on the "digital cross-domain" (Digit +@YZU) as its core axis, and is committed to promoting innovative teaching and research and development of feature fields, digital education and application, as well as the cultivation of integration ability of topic-oriented implementation. Digital cross-domain takes root in students' digital ability and cultivates digital economic talents through compulsory programming language courses, digital cross-domain micro-courses, digital teaching support, digital maker education and intelligent campus Internet of things (IoT) platform. Taking the Engineering department as an example, teachers in intelligent health care, wearable sensors, Internet of things (IoT), cloud Big Data, AI and other fields are integrated to collect teachers' and students' psychological and physical data with simple, convenient and low-cost wearable sensors to construct health prediction and classification models. Communications Department of Yuan Ze University Communications has integrated them into a large "Department of Electrical Machinery" and launched a diversified, modular curriculum with cross-domain integration. Taking Group B of Department of Electrical Machinery as an example, the teaching contents include Internet of things (IoT), AI and machine learning and applications, broadband wireless network, and antenna and microwave circuit design. In order to strengthen students' professional skills, Yuan Ze University plans three university courses: High Frequency Technology, Telecommunication Engineering and Intelligent Information as well as Internet of Things (IoT) micro-course. In addition to the unique courses, hardware equipment is also the key to enhance the teaching energy of AI. Professors at Yuan Ze University has built a good experimental environment in three major areas of AI technology application: sound, image and text. For example, the Audio Laboratory of the Professor of the Electrical Communications department purchased HEAD Acoustics HMS II.3, a German built-in artificial ear and electronic mouthpiece, to accurately simulate human auditory and vocal effects. They also have collaboration between industry and school with Far Eastern Memorial Hospital, which can identify voices by AI, so as to know whether the patient has cancer and other diseases. In addition, the Natural Language Processing Laboratory (NLPL) of the Department of Information Management is devoted to the development of dimension-based affective analysis technology. The purpose of this technology is to automatically detect the positive and negative emotions expressed in words, which can be used to analyze people's views on policies, word of mouth of commodity, and to assist government units, retail, finance, e-commerce and other industries in formulating decision-making.         Exerting Comprehensive Effect to connect with the corporations and Establishing Think Tank Platform
Since last year (2018), Yuan Ze University has established the "AI Artificial Intelligence Cross-domain Innovation Application Center". At present, it is based on three major centers (Big Data and Digital Convergence Innovation Center, Biotechnology Medical and Health Care Innovation Research Center, Intelligent Production and Management Innovation Center) at school level, and targeting on the various undertakings of FEG.
