        Taipei Innovative Textile Application Show (TITAS) was held in Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center from October 7th to 9th, gathering 423 manufacturers worldwide to exhibit innovative achievements in the textile industry. As a top textile giant, Far Eastern New Century Corporation has implemented the concept of vertical integration and global planning and management this year, bringing a series of advanced technologies with sustainable innovation and creating better changes for life.

        

        Take a lead in vertical integration in the world

        

        Far Eastern New Century Corporation has been deep ploughing green environmental protection program and made great achievements in the development of recycling technology and biomass materials in recent years, which makes "environmental protection" DNA be completely internalized as a part of the brand and shine in every process. This year, Far Eastern New Century Corporation highlighted the advantages of "one-stop" technology, with "process map" at the entrance to show the whole picture of upstream, middle and downstream in addition to exhibiting the innovative technology. And exhibition areas were exhibited by different departments to show the advantages of their product.

        

        It is worth mentioning that with this TITAS, Far Eastern New Century Corporation has also announced the establishment of a new research unit-Innovation Direct to Market (IDM). It aims at integrating internal resources of the group, establishing technology platforms and docking brand-leading research and development. IDM has seven technology platforms, including: PET and PU polymerization technology, dye modification and synthesis technology, PET and PA blending technology, new yarn processing technology, fabric analysis and design technology, fabric coating and bonding technology, process agent design and synthesis technology. It will introduce new products with environmental protection characteristics, including water-saving, material recycling, non-toxic solvent-free process, reduced post-processing technology and use of biomass materials, which will be extended to various brands. And it is expected to become pioneers in green textile technology.

        

        Not only that, Oriental Union Chemical Corporation and Oriental Petrochemical (Taiwan) in the upstream of polyester industrial chain also joined TITAS for the first time, the former’s main product is "MEG" while the latter’s is "pure terephthalic acid (PTA), which are important raw materials for chemical fiber. Others include R & D, consolidation, long fiber, Far Eastern Fibertech, staple fiber, spinning, dying & finishing, garment and industrial textiles, all of which have exclusive blocks to present key products.

        In addition to informing visitors about the complete polyester industry chain layout of Far Eastern New Century Corporation, the exhibition area also exhibited related commodities in various fields such as For People, For Home, For Packaging, For Industries and Automobile to highlight the importance of textile technology in daily life and show the results of integration of respective business units. For example, there are many commodities of Far Eastern New Century Corporation in a car, including FENC® Airlof® Acoustic Insulation Fibers for wipers, packaging materials and fillers, and FENC® BOMAX®, staple fibers for cushions and fillers with adhesion at low temperatures. The polyester industrial yarn of industrial fiber group is an important material for making automobile airbag and seat belt. In addition, the FENC® TOPGREEN® Dope Dyed Filament launched by the Long Fiber Business Department has become the preferred choice for automobile seat covers because of its excellent sunlight resistance, color fastness to washing, environmental protection, energy saving and no waste water pollution. Many kinds of color yarn fabrics in the TITAS exhibition venue have been selected by TOYOTA automobile factory as the best-selling model.

        

        In the consumer area, there are many classic daily functional clothes, such as spinning fenc® Siro yarn, the fabric of these products is smooth and owns low hairiness, which can be used for twist effect and slub effect; in terms of raw materials, it can be used for multi fiber blending combination: combining environmental protection fiber with recycled fiber (such as Lenzing®TENCEL®)It gives the fabric a natural cotton feeling and skin affinity, and increases the comfort of wearing. In addition, there are related applications of FENC® insulate, its 3D hollow crimp polyester fiber combination enables the polyester fiber to reach the expansion and warmth retention value which is similar to natural down feather and it can be further improved in increasing the deodorization and far-infrared energy feedback of human body and other functions, which is the best choice for filling in the jacket. In addition to common clothing, ocean recycling yarn ball shoes and polyester original color fiber backpack are also on the show to provide more ideas for textile application. In particular, FENC® Fabric shield, a clothing protection product developed by R & D Center can make the fabric produce functional shielding layer of molecular layer in the process of washing in the way of softness and essence, which not only can effectively remove and prevent dirt, but also can not hurt the clothes, affect the function, and it is not a dermal irritant. At the same time, it can reduce the amount of detergent by 80%, which will be more environment-friendly.

        

        Recycled economy is driven by green breakthrough

        

        When it comes to sustainable recycling products, we must not miss the "ocean recycling yarn project" which is popular all over the world. This project is the exclusive cooperation of Far Eastern New Century Corporation, Adidas and Parley for the Oceans, a NGO. From 2016 to 2018, more than 1200 metric tons of marine waste plastics have been intercepted. In 2019, it is estimated that 1800 metric tons of marine waste plastics can be reduced and transformed into new products, such as sneakers, jerseys, credit cards, shopping bags, thermos bottles and other unexpected daily necessities. In order to practice marine environment conservation, Far Eastern New Century Corporation actively responded to World Ocean Day. In June this year, it again called on 250 colleagues and their family members to participate in the beach cleaning activity held by Taoyuan municipal government in Yong'an fishing port, and made the discarded PET bottles into environment-friendly products to implement the intention of reducing and saving the ocean.

        

        In recycled materials reprocessed products, Far Eastern New Century Corporation TOPGREEN® Membrane also takes the lead in the world. rTPEE membrane environment-friendly waterproof and moisture permeable membrane made from recycled bottles not only has excellent waterproof and moisture permeable ability, but also completely does not contain toxic substances such as PFC and DMF. It can be easily recycled and reused by laminating with polyester fabric. Compared with PU and PTFE materials sold in the market, rTPEE membrane can greatly reduce the treatment cost after use and the impact on the environment, which is an excellent material for environmental sustainability. This year, the world's first, FENC® TOPGREEN® Bio3-PET HTY, the third generation of biomass industrial silk was launched.

        

        The former generation of biomass high tenacity yarn (bHTY) was made by the fermentation of sugarcane instead of oil, extracting glycol (bio MEG), and then polymerizing with pure terephthalic acid (PTA), reducing the dependence of human beings on oil. Far Eastern New Century Corporation not only takes the lead in commercializing the second generation of bHTY, but also cooperates with LanzaTech, which has the technology of "carbon capture". It uses the technology of "carbon capture" to ferment the steel waste gas into alcohol, and then convert it into glycol by chemistry. So the third generation of bHTY is launched. In addition to alleviating the worries of consuming edible plants, it also reduces carbon emissions and makes great contribution in reducing pollution and promoting recycled economy. On the other hand, the breaking strength and stability of the third generation bHTY are better than that of recycled HTY.

        

        FENC® TOPGREEN® rPET breaks the recycling can only be limited to the application of textiles, engineering plastics and other products, and further expand to the field of food packaging materials.
