OIT has obtained BS10012 Personal Information Management System standard verification

        Oriental Institute of Technology is committed to upgrading the campus, taking the lead to make deployment in advance and introducing the Personal Information Management System verification, and obtained the (BSI) BS 10012:2017 personal information management system (PIMS) at the beginning of this year. The personal information management has been affirmed by the international standard certification institution.

        BS10012 (personal information management system established by BSI (British Standards Institution) is an internationally recognized personal information management standard, which mainly regulates the protection of personal information collected, processed and used by organizations in the operation process, and is the best practical personal information management system (PIMS for short), and it can help organizations fully guarantee the reasonable use of personal information on the premise of respecting the privacy right of the parties.

        Due to the characteristics of administration, the Oriental Institute of Technology must collect and process a large number of personal information related to students and faculty. In order to implement the effectiveness information security and personal information management certification of education system promoted by the Ministry of Education, BS10012 PIMS is promoted, which is a key and important part for the sustainable operation of school. In order to provide students with high-quality learning environment and strengthen the protection of students' personal information,        OIT started the project as early as in 2018, and established the relevant regulations and requirements of personal information protection in accordance with the Ministry of Education and BS 10012 PIMS and gradually introduced them into the whole school year by year to confirm that the internal risk control of the school meets the requirements of corporate governance, besides, with the regular audit process to help the school continuously be monitored and improved, comprehensive protection is provided for the personal information of the school staff and students.
