The list of winners of the 2020 Gold Award of Lighting of Architecture Lighting Institute of Taiwan has been published. The "Taoyuan city's comprehensive retrofitting of energy-saving (intelligent) street lamps and human intelligent lighting system" has won the award of excellent outdoor lighting facilities. This project is sponsored by FET, Taoyuan municipal government and LITEON, and the award is the recognition of all parties' efforts to jointly create a new look of smart city.
Zeng Shiyuan, deputy executive director of FET, said that the construction of smart city is rapidly developing in various places, and Taoyuan city is the first city in Taiwan to fully adopt intelligent networking street lamps. FET was honored to participate in the construction of intelligent street lamps in Taoyuan City, and cooperate with the strategic partner, LITEON to jointly realize intelligent governance.
Taoyuan city is the first city in Taiwan to introduce LED street lamp intelligent lighting system on a large scale. FET, as a key member, is responsible for the construction and subsequent maintenance and operation of street lamps in the North District of Taoyuan City, and assists the municipal government to control the street lamp scheduling of the city with the real-time remote monitoring and automatic fault reporting system, so as to provide the best lighting and road use environment for the public.
The LED human intelligent street lighting system can detect and judge the reflection state of the road surface through luminance, automatically change the light type of the street lamp according to the weather conditions to achieve the optimal lighting configuration, so as to improve road safety and reduce the traffic accident rate, and ensure the safety of drivers and passengers.
Intelligent networking street lamp can actively monitor energy consumption, quickly remove faults, save energy and improve road safety. In the future, smart street lamps will use Internet of things (IOT) technology and big data, artificial intelligence to realize applications such as passenger flow analysis, image recognition, air detection, etc.; it can also be customized into multiple services such as electric power transmission for electric vehicle charging, expansion into micro weather station, 5G base station, etc., so as to create a smart city solution meeting local demand.
