Efficient and environmentally friendly Ya Li Precast Pressed Concrete Industries Corporation achieves perfect craftsmanship
Far Eastern Magazine / Editorial Room
Recently, passing by Taipei Far Eastern Group Communication Park (Tpark), you will definitely find that there is an additional distinctive flat circular building in the park. This is the "Taipei Far Eastern Group Communication Park Stereoscopic Parking Tower - TPKP", which was held at the launching ceremony in June last year. It has been completed in just six months, and its excellent efficiency has surprised pedestrians who urgently need parking spaces. What magical magic did the construction team exert? This issue of 'Cover Story' takes you to explore the truth.
Green Thinking and Mapping the Small Mountains in the City
The Far Eastern Group Communication Park (Tpark) in Taipei, located in New Taipei City, is a large-scale development project that combines research and development, community housing, and ecological environment. With the completion and use of new projects, the demand for parking in surrounding office buildings, hospitals, and other areas has become increasingly urgent. However, how to create a parking lot that combines technological development and ecological conservation concepts in this urban peach blossom land has also become the biggest task of the project team.
In order to connect the nearby Far Eastern Group Champs Elysees, Ecological Pool, and Ecological North Park, providing a green belt for public movement and walking, Douglas Hsu and Jiang Lejing's architect team jointly conceived and decided to build a "small mountain in the city" - consisting of nine floors above ground and two floors underground, which can accommodate 858 car spaces and 152 parking spaces.
With a clear blueprint in place, Far Eastern Group, responsible for construction management, immediately began planning with the builders - Far Eastern General Construction Inc., Ya Li Precast Pressed Concrete Industries Corporation. In addition to installing flower beds on sturdy and safe circular concrete exterior walls to hang vertical green climbing plants and present the image of a small hill, it is more important to use efficient and environmentally friendly construction methods, Practice a commitment to environmental friendliness.
In recent years, due to the surge in raw materials and the impact of the epidemic, the construction industry has already fallen into a situation of shortage of labor and materials. Many projects have been forced to be interrupted, and even public works have repeatedly faced crises. "Efficient and environmentally friendly" has almost become a "Mission Impossible".
Professional team showcases precise pre casting techniques
Ya Li Precast Prestressed Concrete Industries Corporation, which received the task, first considered the materials of the main structure. Considering that although the construction period of general steel structures (SS) is short, maintenance is not easy, and additional expenses such as fireproof paint or decoration materials for beams and columns must be paid, the team decided to choose a more cost-effective precast reinforced concrete (RC) structure for the main tower of the building, which can withstand earthquake, fire, and corrosion, In addition, pre cast concrete components are produced in a standardized manner by the factory and then sent to the base for assembly, which is not easily affected by adverse weather conditions. There is no longer dust or additional waste generated in the base, which can effectively reduce environmental pollution. Moreover, the strength and duration of the concrete are easy to control, and the quality is naturally more guaranteed. As for the exterior walls of buildings and the flower beds where plants are placed, due to the need for frequent watering, the use of concrete surface combined with clear water mold coating can help prevent pollution, rust and corrosion, reduce subsequent operation and maintenance costs, and save excess exterior wall decoration materials. In addition to reducing consumable carbon emissions, if the building needs to be demolished in the future, plain concrete can also be easily recycled and reused for backfilling or other environmentally friendly purposes.
After the finalization of the main structural materials, the special circular arc shape of the parking tower is another test. Due to the need to produce a fan-shaped floor, traditional formwork engineering will consume a large amount of materials and increase costs. Additionally, the construction space between the inner cantilever plate and the central lane steel ring beam is small, making construction difficult. After several discussions, the team has designed highly modular 3D pre cast components and applied pre cast cantilever sun deck panels, eliminating the need to build external wall scaffolding. At the same time, it is the first to independently develop a high-strength pre cast column main reinforcement connector that has been verified by the National Earthquake Engineering Research Center, completing high-precision installation. On the other hand, This case also uses the improved seismic resistant column stirrup patented by Ya Li Precast Pressed Concrete Industries Corporation in Taiwan and Japan for the first time. The amount of column stirrup and the total thickness of each group of stirrup after binding are optimized to solve the problem of over dense steel bars and difficult compaction of concrete.
Accumulation and thin development promote industrial technology improvement
After overcoming numerous challenges, the first flat, circular, and three-dimensional parking tower constructed using the full pre casting method in Taiwan was finally successfully completed. Not only did it successfully shorten the construction period, control costs, improve engineering quality, structural safety, and construction safety, but it also reduced dependence on labor and even significantly reduced on-site waste, creating a win-win situation for owners, construction/pre casting factories, and supervisors (architects/structural technicians).
This classic construction project has also become an excellent marketing tool for the Ya Li Precast Prestressed Concrete Industries Corporation brand. The team took advantage of this opportunity to hold multiple engineering observation meetings to share clean, safe, and fast pre casting methods, attracting industry and academia such as the Taiwan Provincial Association of Structural Technicians, the National Earthquake Center, the Taiwan Provincial Association of Civil Technicians, and the National Taiwan University Department of Civil Engineering to learn from it. It is worth mentioning that this case has also won the 2022 Taiwan Concrete Institute (TCI) "Excellent Concrete Engineering Award" Architecture Excellence Award, which is undoubtedly a great encouragement for the team!
After more than thirty years of energy accumulation, Ya Li Precast Prestressed Concrete Industries Corporation has established a proud reputation in the industry and will continue to uphold an attitude of excellence in the future, committed to achieving the harmonious coexistence of artificial buildings and green ecology.
