Graduation Speech to the Class of 2022 of Yuan Ze University

　First, I would like to send my deepest congratulations to you all! After rigorous studies, you have finally graduated from the Yuan Ze University, accomplished a major milestone of your life, and then be ready to embrace a new chapter with your knowledge and skill sets. At this wonderful moment, I hope to share some thoughts about the current world situations and social developments, as well as my expectation and suggestion to you in the future.

　Reflecting on 2022, the outbreak of Ukrainian-Russian War has intensified geopolitical tensions, coupled with surging inflation, rising of interest rate, and pandemic in China, all have led to economic disruptions globally. Furthermore, facing complex issues such as restructuring of supply chains, the China-U. S. competitions, together with long-term trend of climate change and technological innovation, it is not difficult for us to realize that the world is unprecedentedly undergoing new changes. This is an era full of challenges and opportunities. If you want to stand out in these keen competitions, you must be equipped with the following key abilities.

　Firstly, you need to establish a global and international mindset. Under the wave of globalization and digitization, borders between nations have become blurring. The new generation talent should be able to engage in cross-cultural interflows and international collaboration, so to adapt and adopt into different cultural and working environment cultivating fluency in foreign language is the key. Moreover, you need to have critical thinking and problem solving skills to think independently and innovatively so to solve complicated problems, and deal with uncertain challenges.

　Secondly, you need to have an open mind to embrace innovative science and technology, such as artificial intelligence, IoT, and cloud computing. Perhaps in the not-too-distant future, people will enter the metaverse era to thoroughly disrupt our lifestyle and ways of working. You should continue to focus on the development of the new technologies, maintain curiosity and enthusiasm in learning, unceasingly explore new territories and possibilities.

　Thirdly, now the society is facing with all kinds of problems, such as climate change, urban-rural gap, aging population, etc. You are important members of the society, all should be enthusiastic and take initiatives to look after these issues, embrace a sense of responsibilities and mission, commit to CSR events, contribute to social improvement and people’s wellness, bring positive energy and value to the society.

　The possible path after graduation is unlimited. When facing with an unknown future, setting up a definite goal is particularly vital. You must know what you wish to achieve, and what kind of efforts you need to pave your way. There is no shortcut for success, it requires you to stipulate plans, and then put into action despite difficulties. Put your stigma in the right place, and move forward to realize your goal. At the same time, I also hope you to make a good habit in life, expand personal relations, befriend with those who can offer you positive assistance, always be grateful, keep a positive mindset no matter what happens, and live fully each day.

　I am confident that the graduates from the Yuan Ze University, with its academic training and studies from the School, our students are ready to succeed. If you have faith in yourself, stay motivated, continue to learn and improve, embrace the innovative change, you will definitely excel yourselves and achieve outstanding result in the future.
