Yuan Ze University's School of Medicine and Medical Sciences solemnly unveiled its plaque, marking a new milestone in smart healthcare education

        On October 2nd, presided over by President Liao Qingrong and witnessed by teachers, students, and distinguished guests, Yuan Ze University held a grand unveiling ceremony for the School of Medicine and Nursing, symbolizing an important step forward in the development of smart healthcare education and a new milestone for Yuan Ze University towards the integration of science, engineering, and medical care.

        The development of Yuan Ze University School of Medicine originated from the initiative of Shu Hsun Chu, Vice Chairman of Far Eastern Memorial Hospital, which is also a public welfare cause of Far Eastern Group, and received full support from Douglas Hsu. Starting from the end of 2017, after multiple planning and deliberations, it was finally approved by the Ministry of Education in the second semester of the 113th academic year. Currently, it has a "Medical R&D Center", a "Nursing Department", and a "Biotechnology and Engineering R&D Center" that has been adjusted and incorporated from the School of Engineering. In the future, relevant departments will continue to be established to create a complete medical education system and cultivate intelligent health care talents who combine clinical practice and innovative thinking.

        After the establishment of the Medical College, it became the sixth college of Yuan Ze University. Through the combination of healthcare and technology, the school is able to expand its research and development scope in smart healthcare, and create an innovative health care education system that combines expertise in science and engineering with clinical practice. This symbolizes the school's new stage of cross domain integration based on the core development of science and engineering.

        President Liao Qingrong stated that Yuan Ze University has long been known for its expertise in science and engineering, and has actively promoted cross domain integration and social practice in recent years. The establishment of the Medical College is an important milestone in the development of the university's affairs. Dean Chen Yun pointed out that the Medical College takes "holistic, intelligent, and medical" as the main axis of education, and is committed to developing cross domain intelligent health care, practical orientation and innovative development, as well as ethical literacy and international perspective. Yuan Ze University will leverage its advantages in the fields of information and engineering, combined with the clinical resources of Far Eastern Memorial Hospital, to deepen education and research in smart healthcare, precision medicine, and remote care.

        In terms of hardware planning, Yuan Ze University will not only continue to promote cross domain curriculum and smart healthcare research at the Taoyuan campus, but also plan to establish new dormitories and nursing homes at the Linkou campus in New Taipei City, to facilitate students' clinical internships at Far Eastern Memorial Hospital, promote closer communication and cooperation between teachers and students, and achieve the integration of learning and application and resource sharing.

        The School of Medicine at Yuan Ze University will continue to integrate the resources of the entire university, promote cross domain research, international cooperation, and social practice, and aspire to become a benchmark for smart healthcare education at home and abroad, injecting new momentum into Taiwan's medical and health industry.
