实用职场英文：如何专业的表达「不同意」

　　上一期教大家如何专业的表达「同意」(Agreeing Professionally)，本期来看看当意见不同时，如何专业又不失礼的表达「不同意」(Disagreeing Professionally)。

　　商务社交场合中，遇到意见分歧时，一定要小心表达。掌握语言的礼节与强度，巧妙又婉转的表达不同意（Disagreement），才显得得体。

Tactful Disagreement婉转巧妙的表达异议
一、I’m afraid（恐怕）（这是很常见的英式说法）
I’m afraid Stella can’t come today. She’s on a business trip.（恐怕今天Stella不会来了。她在出差。）

二、Unfortunately, （很不凑巧、很不幸）
Unfortunately, the flight has been cancelled.（很不幸地，飞机已经被取消了。）

三、Sadly（遗憾的、悲伤的、非常的）

1. Sadly, I don’t agree. This idea is quite rough.（很遗憾，我并不同意。这个想法不够详细。）
2. He seems to be sadly lacking in a sense of direction.（他似乎非常缺乏方向感。）（lack＝缺乏／不足）

四、With all due respect, （恕我直言）（这是相当正式的说法）
With all due respect, we shouldn’t hold an event this month.（恕我直言，我们不应该在本月举办活动。）

Scenario： Sabrina and Alan are talking（情境：Sabrina和Alan在办公室聊天）
Alan：Good morning, Sabrina. Have you seen the news lately？（Sabrina早安，你最近有看新闻吗？）

Sabrina：Yes, COVID-19 cases are increasing in the West. I don't think they are handling it very well.（有阿。新冠病毒感染案例在西方国家攀升得很快。我认为他们没有即时做好防疫工作。）

Alan：I’m afraid I don’t quite agree. COVID-19 caught everyone by surprise, I believe they are doing all they can.（我恐怕不完全认同你的看法。新冠病毒疫情的影响让大家都很惊讶，我认为西方国家已经尽可能在处理防疫工作了。）（quite 的用法有很多种，非正式口语对话中，经常看到「quite +agree/like/enjoy, understand」来表达自己的看法或偏好，端看上下文脉络来判定意思。例句中的quite＝非常、完全，十分。）

Sabrina：I hope so. Thank goodness Taiwan learned because of SARS. We are very well- prepared. （但愿如此。好在臺湾曾经歷过SARS，学习到不少。我们准备得很完善。）

Ａlan：Don’t worry, the virus will disappear in the summer. Then we can all go back to normal. （别担心，病毒将会在夏天消失。到时候一切都会回归正常。）

Sabrina：Unfortunately, that is not proven because they are still fighting the virus in Singapore, Thailand, and the Philippines.（很不幸的，这并未被证实，因为新加坡、泰国、菲律宾等国家，同样也在努力对抗疫情扩散。）

Alan：Oh, I see. Then we should continue to wear masks, no matter what kind. It is better than not wearing any. （了解。那我们应该持续戴口罩，不论哪种款式的口罩。至少都好过什么都不戴。）

Sabrina：With all due respect, I believe surgical and N95 masks are still the best. The masks at normal stores are usually only for dust.（恕我直言，我相信医疗级口罩和N95仍是最合适的。一般市售的口罩只能挡灰尘。）

Alan：You’re right. We should also all do social distancing in order to prevent further spread. Also, the world should know that Taiwan can help.（你说的对。我们也应该保持社交距离来杜绝疫情扩散。同时，全世界都应该知道臺湾能帮上忙。）

Sabrina：I’m in total agreement. We should all do our part to fight this.（我完全同意。全民防疫，我们应该从自身做起。）
