After leaving the hospital, I went on foot to the bustling business circle of Zhongzheng Road in Magong City, where there were many handicraft shops, Wenshi shops and beverage snack shops with Penghu characteristics. I bought shellfish hair ornaments, tasted cactus ice-cream, big tubular noodles, and also visited famous historical sites on Central Street, including Tianhou Palace, Shigong Temple, Narcissus Palace, Arctic Palace, Wanjunjing, Siyanjing, Zhongguan. Yanggu Street, Shunchengmen, Taixia Suburb Guild Hall, as well as the oldest family village in Taiwan - Penghu Duxing Ten Village Pan'an Bang's home, Zhang Yusheng's former residence.

The Tianhou Palace not far away shocked me because it worshipped Mazu, also known as "Mazu Palace". It was built along the slope and facing the south. It is one of the oldest temples in Taiwan. Although there are different opinions about the exact date of its establishment, with the unearthing of stone tablets such as Shen Yourong's retreat from Hong Mao Fan Wei Malang, it can be confirmed that the temple was built in 1604. Jintianfu was the queen of heaven, so she was called Tianhou Palace. Penghu, because of its excellent geographical, national defense and military strategic position, has long been the relay station for ships in the Taiwan Strait, the outpost for multi-party wars and the key place for economic and military struggle. China, the Netherlands, Portugal, France and the Japanese have all left a beacon fire here. Shen Yourong, a general of the Ming Dynasty, was resolute and upright. He had recovered Taiwan three times. In the winter of 1604, the Netherlands invaded Penghu. Shen Yourong advocated "teaching reason, fearing calamity, making him suspicious" and "taking his robe slowly and climbing his boat" successfully persuaded the Dutch army to leave.
As to Shunchengmen, the small west gate of the Mother's Palace City built in 1886 after the Sino-French War in 1885, it was not only the last defensive city built in the Qing Dynasty, but also the larger one in Taiwan's existing city. Because of the windy Penghu, the city building is not high. The wall is made of local igneous rock, and the battlements are made of gurgling stone. Oyster shell plaster is used to protect the surface. I climbed up the city wall, looked at the ocean, waited for the sunset, and raised the sigh of "the joy of the past, the relics of the past between the pitch, can't help but rejoice in it; the situation is short, the end is over"!
The Daheye basalt in Xiyu Township is also worth visiting. It is deep-sea lava gushing through underground fissures and cooling rapidly to the surface, forming a magnificent and natural columnar basalt. Its geological structure is columnar joints and plate fissures, which have been eroded by the sea breeze, showing a magnificent appearance. Villagers told me that in order to communicate with Ma Gong and Xiyu, excavate earth and stone, build wharfs, and unexpectedly find this magnificent pillar basalt. However, there are also such wonders in Xiyu, Maoyu, Baisha, Yuebei, Xiaomen Island, Tongpan Island, Xiji Island and Qimei Island, all of which have their own characteristics. I wanted to go by boat, but in winter, the wind and waves were strong, and some of the off-island boats stopped sailing. Finally, I choose to walk along the beautiful and pure seashore. The beach here is composed of fine sand, coral and shells. The sea area is gentle and the sky is uniform. There are terns, crabs, black sea cucumbers and hermit crabs everywhere. There are no rocks and clouds breaking up, and thousands of piles of snow rolled up. Instead, it is "when there is no wind in the sea, the waves are peaceful and distant". The sea water is blue and quiet.
Penghu County Government has vigorously promoted tourism in recent years. The local people are very warm and friendly. The journey of three days and two nights is rich and profound, which makes people forget to return. They can not help thinking of their ancestors and hard fishermen crossing the sea. Penghu is full of moving and respecting. It not only has sunshine, beach, waves, cactus, chrysanthemum and captain of the old boat, but also contains rich history, humanity, perseverance and tenacity. Vitality!
