Oriental Petrochemical (Shanghai) Corporation was awarded the title of national green factory

        On July 17, the website of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology announced the fourth batch of green manufacturing lists. 611 enterprises (including 16 in Shanghai) such as OPSC won the title of "National Green Manufacturing Factory". According to the survey, only 4 PTA plants in the four batches of published lists were awarded the title of "Green Manufacturing Factory". This honor not only affirms the company's efforts to implement green manufacturing, but also greatly improves the corporate image and competitiveness.

Document [2016] 586 of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology issued the “Notice of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology on the Construction of Green Manufacturing System”, which formally proposed to accelerate the construction of green manufacturing system, which is a top-level design measure for the country in response to the “Paris Agreement” and “Made in China 2015”. Priority should be given to enterprises with good foundation and strong representativeness to construct green factories, leading enterprises to transform and upgrade, develop green buildings, apply renewable resources, adopt advanced technology, promote green design and green procurement, and then develop green products and realize green development. The so-called green factory refers to the factory which has realized land intensification, production purification, reclamation of wastes and low-carbon. The evaluation indexes include basic indicators (compliance or not, one vote veto) and six comprehensive indicators (infrastructure, management system, energy and resources input, production process and products, environmental emissions and performance). Self-evaluation report and evaluation by third party evaluation agencies and expert verification are required. The report can only be submitted after approval by the Shanghai Municipal Commission of economy and informatization. OPSC officially reported on April 12.

Many enterprises reported this year and the competition was very fierce. Especially in this year, many accidents happened in chemical plants, which made it more difficult for chemical enterprises to get approval. OPSC has been recognized by experts of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology for its advanced facilities, advanced clean production technology and efficient end-of-pipe control treatment equipment, sound mechanisms, resource recovery and utilization, optimization of energy use structure, advanced energy consumption performance and active promotion of multiple intelligent manufacturing. It is not easy for the chemical industry to pass the audit under the adverse circumstances.
